Swap a parsnip for a gin & tonic at this Bonkers London food market

It’s World Parsnip Day on 20th November, and one of the capital’s coolest food markets has come up with the most brilliantly bonkers way to celebrate.

Market Place, the fast-growing street food hub with locations across London, is teaming up with premium gin brand James Gin to give away free G&Ts – but there’s a quirky catch.

To get your hands on a James Gin Asian Parsnip & Tonic, all you need to do is bring a parsnip down to the Market Place Vauxhall site on 20th November. In exchange for your humble root vegetable, you’ll receive a free gin & tonic on the house.

Market Place will be donating every single parsnip collected to a local food bank, so you’ll not only be getting a tasty treat, but you’ll also be doing your bit to help the community.

The special offer marks the continuation of Market Place’s partnership with James Gin, which kicked off earlier this year as part of the venue’s second-anniversary celebrations. Back in September, the street food hub unveiled a range of limited-edition gin-infused dishes, including a Gin & Zest Pizza and Gin & Tonic Fish and Chips.

The free James Gin & Asian Parsnip Tonic deal will be available all day on 20th November at Market Place Vauxhall, 7 S Lambeth Pl, London SW8 1SP.

So if you fancy getting your hands on a one-of-a-kind gin cocktail this World Parsnip Day, head down to Market Place Vauxhall with your vegetable in tow. It’s the quirkiest way to celebrate the humble parsnip we’ve ever seen!
