London’s streets came alive this morning as thousands of runners took to the capital for the Saucony London 10K, the UK’s only closed-road 10K to race down Regent Street and past some of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
On a day when London is firmly in the sporting spotlight with the Wimbledon Finals taking place later, the sold-out 2025 event saw runners of all abilities pass Big Ben, the London Eye and Trafalgar Square, cheered on by lively crowds and music stages, making it a true celebration of running in the capital.
Organised by Motiv Sports UK, the race sold out in record time this year, with over 17,000 sign-ups, with entries for the 2026 event opening immediately after the race due to high demand.
Ian Allerton, Managing Director of Motiv Sports UK, said: “The Saucony London 10K is one of the best days of the year to run in the capital, and it’s fantastic to see so many people come together to celebrate London and running. With a route like no other and an unbeatable atmosphere, it’s no surprise the event sold out faster than ever. It’s been a brilliant start to a huge day of sport in the city.
“What stands out is the incredible spirit that transcends through London before, during and after the event. So many participants are running to raise valuable funds for a wide range of charities, with over half a million raised for our partner charities already this year. London comes alive for the 10k, and we’re proud to be able to offer runners the chance to enjoy themselves across all levels, from just wanting to focus on fitness to breaking a PB.”
Among the runners was 2024 Big Brother winner Ali Bromley, European silver medallist and British 1500m champion Holly Archer, British marathon runner Becky Briggs, 2016 Olympian Jared Ward as well as a host of recognised online influencers from across the fitness and lifestyle world.
The iconic 10K race, alongside many others across the country, have recently seen an increase in interest as people are placing a priority on their health and enjoyment, utilising organised events as the ideal way to support their wellbeing.
This year’s event has seen over half a million pounds raised for charities across the event partners and individual runner’s fundraising campaigns. The event’s national charity partners include Cancer Research UK, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Alzheimer’s Society, Special Effect, Parkinson’s UK and TRIBE Freedom Foundation.
