New St James development to launch in London’s iconic East End

    • Bow Green, E3 – where the City blends with nature –

St James, part of the Berkeley Group, is creating a new destination in London, E3. Blending new and heritage buildings, Bow Green will feature c.1,450 new homes immersed in green landscape, conveniently positioned in East London’s Golden Triangle, between The City, Canary Wharf, and Stratford.

With over fifty percent of the development dedicated to green open spaces, this lush new East London oasis will include over five acres of public park along with landscaped resident’s gardens – with an earth sculpture rising to over 4m in height, with terraced and graded slopes, forming a central focal point for all to enjoy. Combining the best of both worlds – Bow Green will provide the perfect balance between the energy of the city and the tranquillity of nature.

    An outstanding lifestyle on offer

Residents will enjoy an extensive range of facilities including a gym with boxing ring (a nod to the old East End), indoor pool and outdoor serenity pool, an IMAX cinema and lounges, with everyday conveniences including a 24-hour concierge, grocery store and café/restaurant.

This Zone 2 East London location has excellent connectivity, thanks to three tube stations within a 10-minute stroll. Convenient access to the Central Line, District, Hammersmith & City, and DLR, provide a short commute for work, leisure and London’s top universities. It is possible to reach almost all major employment areas in London within a 20-minute journey time. For those seeking a greener/healthier transport method, Canary Wharf is a 9 minutes cycle, or under 30 minutes walk, and The City just a 20 minute cycle away.

After being closed off for 150 years, the site is now being rejuvenated, with Bow Green proudly celebrating its heritage by restoring original features and cultivating historic character throughout. The beautiful heritage building, 120 Bow Common, has been sympathetically restored and stands proud at the front of the development – currently being used as the Marketing Suite.

The creation of Bow Yard, framed by a water feature in the plaza at one end and a historical metal arch providing a grand entrance at the other, will create a vibrant new public space. The original cobblestones have been restored and will be enhanced by market stalls and a new café/restaurant. Designed to blend the indoors with the outdoors, The Canopy restaurant will feature plants hanging from the ceiling like verdant chandeliers, whilst a tree canopy will shade the tables. An all-day destination, it will serve as a café by day and transform into a restaurant and bar in the evening.

A new destination for East London

This exciting new development is fully immersed in the historic East End of London, with its vibrant atmosphere, artistic crowd, entertainment and dining, plus excellent shopping including the buzzing Broadway Market or charming Colombia Road Flower Market. Enhanced by an abundance of green spaces and places to explore, such as Victoria Park and Queen Elizabeth Park, and Regent’s Canal with its towpaths and waterways and plethora of waterside cafés, or Roman Road with its thrice-weekly market and independent cafés.

    At nature

Nature is integral to Bow Green – lush, interconnected green spaces flow throughout the entire development, abundant with trees, an array of shrubs and plants, green roofs and water features. The residents’ Botanical Garden will feature a range of fruit trees, such as apples, cherries and pears, alongside fragrant herbs like lavender, rosemary, sage, thyme, and mint. The varied species in the garden will provide fresh produce for the café/restaurant in Bow Yard and create an ever-changing seasonal landscape to admire.

    An unrivalled standard of living

Phase 1 will complete in 2026, offering suites, one, two and three bedroom apartments. All the homes will benefit from Berkeley’s renowned high quality, finish, specification and attention to detail, with the apartment interiors created by interior architect and design experts, Johnson Naylor.

Contemporary styled kitchens feature high-performance Bosch appliances, with the ovens featuring the latest air fryer functionality. Elegant bathrooms come with wall tiling to key areas, whilst a combination of wood effect flooring with underfloor heating to the main living areas and carpet in the bedrooms, complete the high-quality finish. All the new homes enjoy their own private balcony, with some apartments enjoying views of The City / Canary Wharf and the Botanical gardens.

Neil Ramsdale, managing director, St James, comments: “Bow Green presents an exceptional proposition for buyers keen to be immersed in the iconic East End culture, within a short commute of the City and Canary Wharf. The homes also offer a sound investment opportunity for savvy investors keen to capitalise on the strong rental demand from both international students and professionals alike.”

Homes at Bow Green are priced from £395,000 for a studio, £465,000 for a 1 bed, £650,000 for a 2 bed. For further information, please call 020 3814 8110 or visit www.bowgreen.co.uk
