Areas of Outstanding National Beauty without the premium price tag – Home Reach launches Shared Ownership homes in some of the UK’s prettiest locations

With reports suggesting properties within an Area of Outstanding National Beauty (AONB) demand a 13% premium compared to those located outside, house hunters looking for a new home would be forgiven for discounting the highly desirable areas entirely.

Offering an alternative route to home ownership in some of the UK’s prettiest towns is Home Reach – recently announcing the launch of a wide range of Shared Ownership homes, including two developments located along the iconic North Devon/Cornwall coastline.

Melissa Toomey, Director of Sales for Home Reach, comments; “We know the importance of bringing homes to market in places people want to live and not just the places they can afford – even more so, when such areas demand a price premium as AONB clearly do.

“Shared Ownership is a fantastic solution to those struggling to buy a home outright. Whether a first-time buyer or a family or couple looking for their next move, having the opportunity to initially buy just a share of the home could mean the difference between staying in area you love and having to relocate for more space.”

One such area is Wadebridge, a picturesque town within the North Cornwall AONB straddling the River Camel and boasting exceptional local amenities including independent shops, restaurants and cafes. Within easy reach of the county’s 300 beaches and coastlines, Wadebridge is also well known for being a key point on The Camel Trail, a popular 18 mile cycling and walking route.

Home Reach has recently launched a number of detached three-and four-bedroom houses at Bovis Homes’ Cornish Quarter development, in the heart of the town. Featuring open-plan layouts, fully fitted modern kitchens and landscaped gardens, homes have been designed to seamlessly slot into the surrounding traditional architecture. Significantly more affordable than local alternatives, Home Reach homes start from just £197,500 for a 50% share of a three-bedroom house.

Just a 90 min drive up the coast but tipping into the rugged North Devon region, Northam is a popular market town boasting England’s oldest golf club, Royal North Devon Golf Club. The nearby market town of Bideford and sandy beach of Westward Ho! create endless opportunities for shopping, surfing and eating, just a short hop outside the AONB.

Launching Shared Ownership homes at Bay View, Home Reach is offering three-and four-bedroom houses with prices starting from £172,500 for a 50% share – requiring a deposit of less than £9000. Modern design is married with classic architecture, creating elegant homes that is cohesive with rural Devon’s topography. Bay View homes feature tall glass windows to connect residents with the surrounding views of the natural landscape.

Home Reach offers a wide range of Shared Ownership homes across England.
