British fashion designer Anya Hindmarch partners with Ordnance Survey to showcase the power of maps

A unique and exciting collaboration inspired by maps has been launched to encourage people to ‘discover more in 2024’.

Fashion designer Anya Hindmarch and Ordnance Survey (OS) have teamed up to launch ‘Anya Says Walk’, an eight-week collaboration which inspires people to get outside as well as find out more about the two brands which share a passion for the outdoors and sustainability.

Anya Hindmarch is no stranger to pushing boundaries. Since founding her brand in 1987, she has built a global empire renowned for its innovative accessories, playful experiential retail concepts, and unwavering commitment to sustainability. ‘Anya Says Walk’ is the latest of those retail concepts with a space dedicated to exploring the joys of being outdoors and discovering the world of OS.

Part of the collaboration is the launch of the ‘walking capsule collection’ and exhibition at Anya’s concept store in Pont Street, London. The exhibition – which runs until the end of February 2024 – covers two centuries of OS mapping the nation, from military origins to today’s digital world of walking apps and data underpinning many of the vital services we all rely on.

The space also hosts a collection of walking products from navigation tools, walking boots, books, dog accessories, hiking equipment, socks and wet weather gear.

Over the following weeks, a series of engaging events and initiatives are planned to include an ‘in conversation’ event with Anya and Managing Director of OS Leisure Nick Giles OBE, and the launch of a new ‘Look Up London’ walking tour.

“It’s exciting to partner with Ordnance Survey on our latest concept store,” said Anya. “To delve into the expertise and innovation that underpins the age-old activity – walking. This collaboration transcends fashion and maps. It’s about rediscovering the simple joys of being outdoors, connecting with nature, and embarking on meaningful journeys.”

Leanne Upson, OS’s Director of Customer and Marketing, said: “We are delighted to start 2024 with the ‘Anya Says Walk’ partnership and hope that it will inspire more people to be adventurous and get outside. We also want to encourage people to discover more about Ordnance Survey and the vital role our mapping plays across the nation.”
