Leading West London law firm Berris Law LLP has been ranked in the Legal 500 UK 2025 Guide for its criminal practice.

Ranked for General Crime, the firm has been recognised for its leadership and legal prowess when representing clients charged with a multitude of crimes including drug offences, murder, and terrorism.  The crime team at Berris Law is renowned for being run by two of the most experienced and respected defence lawyers in London: Seema Dosaj and Julian Hayes. At the vanguard of defending legal aid over the years, they put client care before remuneration and campaign for a fairer and better society for all. At a time when vast swaths of firms no longer offer legal aid funded representation, Seema and Julian continue to provide access to justice to anyone who needs it.

Commenting on the latest ranking, Senior Partner, Julian Hayes said:

“We are delighted to have been recognised in the Legal 500 for our criminal work.  It is testament to our hard-working team of passionate lawyers who work tirelessly to receive justice for our clients. The cuts to legal aid and the lack of funding in the area has meant that many firms can no longer offer this support.  We are proud to be one of the minority still putting access to justice at the forefront of the judicial system.”

The Legal 500, a leading legal directory, has been analysing the capabilities of law firms across the world, with a comprehensive research programme revised and updated every year to bring the most up-to-date vision of the global legal market. The rankings are based on a series of criteria, which see them highlight the practice area teams who are providing the most cutting edge and innovative advice to their clients. The pioneering research is based on feedback from 300,000 clients worldwide, submissions from law firms and interviews with leading private practice lawyers, and a team of researchers who have unrivalled experience in the legal market.
