Award-Winning Comedian Mary O’Connell Takes ‘Money Princess’ to Soho Theatre

Comedian Mary O’Connell is set to perform her debut show, ‘Money Princess,’ at Soho Theatre for a four-night run from March 27th to March 30th. Directed by Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Elf Lyons, the sold-out show promises a mix of humor, insight, and personal reflection.

O’Connell, the 2023 OF TV (Only Fans) Comedy Creative Fund winner, emerged victorious in a competitive field, impressing judges Jamali Maddix, Mae Martin, and London Hughes with her unique comedic style.

In ‘Money Princess,’ O’Connell explores her conflicted relationship with money, tackling themes of capitalism, risk-taking, and consumerism. Despite her dislike for capitalism, she candidly admits her penchant for shopping, especially at Sainsbury’s, and a keen interest in scams and financial crime.

The comedian takes a humorous look at everyday absurdities, questioning societal norms and critiquing “Girl Boss Feminism” and its ties to female consumerism. Mary’s witty yet straightforward tone covers complex topics such as marriage, appearance, mental health, and relationships.

Catch Mary O’Connell’s observational comedy at Soho Theatre, where she promises a candid and contemplative perspective in her debut hour, ‘Money Princess.’
