Get courtside this summer as Merchant Square brings the drama of Wimbledon to the scenic Paddington Basin with a giant free outdoor screen showing all the action from the famous grass courts.

    • Free Wimbledon screening every day until late (1st – 14th July)
    • Free Tennis coaching and beach tennis games
    • Strawberries and cream, cocktails and refreshments

From 1st – 14th July, tennis fans can grab a perfectly positioned deckchair or picnic spot on the lawn and soak up the thrills of the Championships at the pedestrianised West London square. No booking is required to watch Alcaraz and Vondroušová in their bid for glory, with play from 12 pm daily on the massive screen by the canal.

Fresh strawberries will be available served with cream, ice cream, or silky melted Belgian chocolate. Quintessentially British cocktails and refreshing specials will be served daily from 12 pm – 9 pm during the tournament.

But the fun doesn’t stop with being a spectator! Merchant Square has partnered with Game Set Beach – London’s premier beach tennis coaching club – to offer coaching sessions and matchplay throughout the summer, including during the Wimbledon tournament.

On selected days during the Wimbledon tournament (3rd – 4th and 10th – 11th July) Game Set Beach will also host free beach tennis activities from 12 pm – 5 pm, including mini-tournaments, serving challenges and fun games open to all ages.

Catering for all abilities, this fun beach tennis community provides expert coaching and a diverse range of group sessions and matchplay to get involved with. Whether you’re a total novice or a seasoned pro, their schedule from 13th April to 1st August has something for everyone, including coached matchplay on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Paying tribute to the iconic event, tennis fans are encouraged to dust off their best tennis legend outfits for a fancy dress competition, with beach tennis giveaways and prizes up for grabs for the best costumes.

Echo Pan, Events Manager at Merchant Square said: “We’re delighted to bring the excitement of Wimbledon to Paddington Basin again this year with our giant outdoor screen. Combined with fantastic coaching sessions and beach tennis activities, this is the perfect way to launch our summer of sporting celebrations.”
