An exhibition is being held at The Mitre Hampton Court on 10th October for those considering a move to a different way of life in the Westcountry.
A long-established firm favourite for a drastic change of scenery and a better quality of life, the southwest offers lower house prices and a lower cost of living as well as more space and cleaner air, a huge range of leisure pursuits from walking and cycling, to riding, sailing and watersports, and a strong sense of community.
Indeed, the latest government data shows the average property price in London at a staggering £200,000 more than in the southwest (£520,747 compared to £320,415). Average private rental prices are also considerably higher – around £1,000 per month – at £2,129 in London and £1,132 in the southwest.
Local property experts from Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire will be attending the Experts in Property Westcountry Property Exhibition to discuss their region and answer questions on everything from local industry and broadband speeds, through the various landscapes and transportation, to schooling and facilities for toddlers, as required.
They’ll also be showcasing a wide range of property for sale in coastal, country, town, village, city and moorland locations including seaside boltholes, period townhouses, remote cottages, village farmhouses, luxury new builds and more modest homes on modern developments. Many of the Westcountry offices also provide property to rent, giving would-be buyers the opportunity to experience a taste of life in the southwest before taking the property purchasing plunge.
Their collective, dedicated southwest propertyportal, currently features around 4,000 listings, from holiday homes near Durdle Door at a starting price of £27,500, to grand country homes and estates up to £3.5m, and everything in between.
With a huge shift towards flexible, remote and hybrid working arrangements, the prospect of moving to a new home with more space for the family within a friendly, active community, is more realistic than ever. So, if you’re looking to escape the congestion and pollution in the fast-paced capital for a more relaxed lifestyle closer to the sea, the exhibition is a must.
The Experts in Property Westcountry Property Exhibition will take place at The Mitre Hampton Court – the boutique hotel on the banks of the River Thames, next to Hampton Court Palace, on Thursday 10th October, from 11am till 4pm. Visit the hotel’s website, to see how it’s easily accessible by train, bus, car or riverboat.
