Unplugged launches its first ever offline retreat with Cabilla cornwall

Unplugged, the UK’s leading digital detox escape in nature, launches its first ever offline retreat in partnership with Cabilla Cornwall.

Nestled in 300 acres of ancient temperate rainforest on Bodmin Moor – one of the UK’s most breathtaking and peaceful landscapes – the three-night retreat offers guests a rare chance to truly switch off. It combines Unplugged’s signature tech-free experience with the transformational, magical energy of Cabilla’s wild, restorative surroundings.

From forest bathing, cold plunges in the river, a guided rainforest tour, morning yoga and sound healing to stargazing and sauna sessions, the retreat is a slow-paced immersion in nature – designed to ground guests, restore energy, and deepen connection with self and others. Unplugged and Cabilla have curated a retreat that blends group activities with free time to roam and rest, to give the perfect blend of rest and recharge.

Just like at Unplugged’s 36 off-grid cabins, guests will lock their phones away on arrival, swapping them for old-school Nokias, instant cameras and physical maps. But this time, instead of solo stays, they’ll be guided through a three-day experience of collective rest and reset, hosted by the founders of Unplugged and the team at Cabilla.

Highlights of the weekend include guided forest bathing walks, group campfire dinners – including local sourdough pizza by the firepit – and the opportunity to connect with likeminded people – all without the constant hassle of today’s ‘notifications’. Guests will stay in Cabilla’s unique and beautifully designed koyt cabins. Each of which features a log burner, luxurious Egyptian cotton linens and Bramley toiletries and can be made up as a king or twin occupancy. Guests will also get exclusive access to the whole 300 acre estate and barn.

Commenting on the introduction of this first of its kind experience, Hector Hughes, co-founder of Unplugged, said:  “Since day one, we’ve seen how powerful switching off can be. This retreat is the natural evolution of Unplugged, bringing like minded people together. By combining our digital detox philosophy with something more communal and immersive, we’re excited about giving busy folk a “fourth space” for them to connect properly through their love of nature and wellbeing. We’ve long admired Cabilla for the magic they’re creating on Bodmin Moor, and we couldn’t think of a better partner to help bring our first retreat to life.”

Lizzie Hanbury-Tenison, Co-Founder / CEO at Cabilla Cornwall, added: “Partnering with the team at Unplugged was a natural and easy decision for us at Cabilla. Their commitment to digital detoxing and reconnecting with nature aligns seamlessly with our mission. At Cabilla, we are passionate about sharing the restorative power of nature with those seeking meaningful, mindful connection and experiences. The Cabilla Unplugged retreat offers the perfect environment for guests to reset, recharge, and rediscover balance in both mind and body.”

The first Unplugged x Cabilla Cornwall retreat runs 14–17 July and 17–20 July 2025. Prices start from £625 per person (double koyt occupancy) or £795 per person (single koyt occupancy). To find out more and apply, visit https://unplugged.rest/cabilla-unplugged
