With various bank holidays approaching and a long summer of fun ahead, there is no better time to bag a bargain staycation than now! Whether it is a jam-packed weekend away or a relaxing few days working remotely, we sat down with the travel experts at Wenningdale Escapes to round up their top tips for securing a great deal!

Avoid booking sites: One of the best tips for finding well-priced trips is to go to the location/destination directly. They might have specific last-minute trips or deals that aren’t available on booking sites. When speaking with the company, also be sure to ask when their early bookings become available to beat the potential disappointment of missing out!

Keep up with socials: If there is somewhere very specific you want to visit, definitely keep an eye on their socials. Often travel companies will post last-minute availability here so be sure to set alerts for them posting to bag a trip! In addition, sign up for any newsletters or comms which may include updates!

Don’t wait: In the same breath, should there be somewhere you really want to stay, waiting last minute doesn’t always mean the best value! If you can book in advance, definitely do! This helps avoid disappointment and means you will get the best initial price!

Look further afield: If it is a location you want to visit over a specific lodge, hotel or camping site, definitely look further afield! This way you will avoid the more expensive options that are central but still get the best of the location with a smaller price tag.

If you can, off-peak it: Bank holidays are naturally a more expensive time to book a trip so if it is possible, try and travel off-peak – these trips will always be the most competitively priced!
