Taylor Town: Pick up your poetry prescription and get tour ready at Lush Oxford Street!

Lush has a reputation for bringing the party to Oxford Street, and to mark the arrival of pop royalty to the city, is helping customers get party ready and arrive equipped with their very own poetry prescription at Lush’s Poetry Pharmacy pop-up. Get ready to paint the town red, no ticket required – simply drop into the store from 21st – 23rd June.

Those looking to get tour ready – or just join in with the party – can expect to leave Lush doused in sparkling dusting powders, glitter crumble eyeshadows and moisturising body shimmers.

Founded by poet Deborah Alma, The Poetry Pharmacy specialises in poetry on prescription – to aid with a variety of emotional ailments. Customers can browse poetic remedies in the form of beautiful books curated by emotion, to a range of Poemcetamol pills and other bookish delights or be prescribed good coffee and cake in the Dispensary Coffee Shop.

Whether you are suffering from the stresses of the modern world or the pain of a broken heart or simply need a tonic for the spirits, The Poetry Pharmacy has a poetic remedy for you.

Lush’s collaboration started after poetry lover Mark Constantine, Co-founder and CEO got in touch with Alma, after The Poetry Pharmacy was shortlisted in 2021 for an Independent Business Award in a competition run by entrepreneur and champion of small businesses Holly Tucker.  Lush was on the judging panel and a friendship with Mark and then, more widely, members of the Lush team began.

Since then poetry has featured in the Lush Spa, products and gift range.  Mark Constantine and Deborah Alma are currently writing a book entitled The Poetry Business School coming later this year. The book is a dialogue and mentoring relationship through emails and poetry charting the journey to The Poetry Pharmacy opening its first London location..

Lush’s experts will be ready to shake, brush and dust ethical beauty products for the body, face and hair over customers to make all of London shimmer – and will be on hand to recommend and some of the brand’s iconic products to get customers ready for a night on the town or for an evening of pampering.

Originally invented in 1989, there is now a large range of Lush bath bombs, including The Lakes! Pop by and discover even more products that could take you on a glittery tour journey, such as: Karma soap, Grass Shower Gel and Mermaid Tail Bubble Bar, Cherry Lip Scrub and Eclipse Glitter Crumble.
