A recent study, by TV and tech retailer Currys, analysed 210 couples from seven popular dating TV shows to determine which have the highest chance of finding “the one”. As part of this analysis, the retailer also explored each contestant’s star signs, of the 149 the couples, to find out which horoscopes succeed in this type of environment.

The data showed that when it came to the star signs that thrived on TV dating shows, Libras are very much in their element. An impressive 37% of the Libras analysed on the selected shows are still together with their dating show partner, and 26% of them are even tying the knot.

Next is Cancer with a third of the contestants still together with their show partner, and 28% are also married. And only marginally behind was Scorpio, with 32% still together with their dating show match, but only 23% of those exchanging vows.

As for the sign that should steer clear of applying, it’s the water sign Pisces. Of the 26 contestants that were Pisces, none managed to make their relationship work off screen.

As for compatibility between the star signs, there is a mixed bunch from those that are still together. The only pairings that made more than one appearance were Aries and Libras and Cancer and Scorpio.

As part of the study, Currys asked AI to give the couples still together a compatibility score based on their star signs.

Interestingly, the star signs that matched more than once scored among the highest for compatibility. Aries and Libra’s scored 85% and Cancer and Scorpio scored 80% – both were only beaten by Cancer and Taurus with 90%.

This is what AI had to say about these matches:

    Aries and Libra: 85%

Opposites attract. Aries’ fiery independence contrasts with Libra’s diplomacy, making for an exciting match. The couples with these star signs include Cam Holmes and Emily Miller from Too Hot to Handle, as well as Zack Goytowski and Bliss Poureetezadi, from Love is Blind US.

    Cancer and Scorpio: 80%

Water signs that share an emotional intensity, though Scorpio’s possessiveness may occasionally overwhelm sensitive Cancer. The couples with these star signs include Hannah Wright and Marco Donatelli from Love Island USA, as well as Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton from Love Is Blind US.

Love is Blind US has the best dating show success rate

Out of all of the dating shows analysed, it was discovered that if true love is top of your list, then Love is Blind US gives you your best chance of finding it. Of the 21 couples analysed from the show, a third are still together, giving it a 33% success rate and, due to the format of the show resulting in those that stay together get married, the show also has a 33% marriage success rate too.

The second most successful show is the UK counterpart, Love is Blind UK, with a 29% of couples analysed still together and married post show. Although there has only been one season of this show so far and the relationships are still in their infancy, based on the US figures it gives audiences and future contestants hope of lasting love – particularly as the second season has been announced for 2025.

The show with the worst success rate was discovered to be Ex on the Beach UK, with just 4% of couples analysed still together.
