No Refund Policy

    Last updated: 6 September 2026

    The London News operates a strict no refund policy. Please read this page before you pay, because by paying you accept it. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions and Contributor Agreement.

    1. All payments are final

    Once a payment has been taken we do not issue refunds, credits or partial refunds. This covers:

    • One-off article fees (£15 per article), including where an article is later edited, returned for changes, refused or removed;
    • Monthly Pro subscriptions, including the current month once it has started;
    • Annual Pro subscriptions, including any unused months after cancellation;
    • Part-used billing terms of any kind;
    • Accounts blocked, suspended or closed because these terms were breached;
    • Payments made in error where the service has already been supplied or made available.

    2. Why we do not refund

    Our services are digital and are supplied the moment you pay: your submission enters the editorial queue, priority review is reserved, and Pro features such as custom bylines, unlimited links and priority posting become available immediately. That editorial time cannot be recovered once it has been spent.

    3. Your cancellation right

    Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 consumers usually have 14 days to cancel a digital service. By paying and starting to use the service you expressly ask us to begin supply immediately and acknowledge that you lose that cancellation right. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — that a service is carried out with reasonable care and skill — are not affected.

    4. Cancelling a subscription

    You can cancel Pro at any time from your dashboard or the billing portal, with no notice period, no cancellation fee and no minimum term. Cancelling stops the next payment; it does not refund the term you are already in, and you keep Pro features until that term ends. Cancel before your renewal date to avoid the next charge — we send a reminder 14 days before payment is due.

    5. Duplicate or failed charges

    If you are charged twice for the same thing, or charged after a cancellation was correctly processed, contact us and we will investigate and return any genuine overpayment. This is a correction, not a refund of a service supplied.

    6. Gifted and complimentary plans

    Pro access given as a gift, promotion or goodwill has no cash value, cannot be exchanged or refunded, and may be withdrawn if the account breaches our terms.

    7. Chargebacks

    Please contact us before raising a chargeback. Where a chargeback is raised against a validly supplied service we may suspend the account, unpublish its content and recover the fees charged to us by the payment provider.

    8. Contact us

    If something has gone wrong with your article or your billing, email billing@thelondon.news and we will look into it. We would always rather fix the problem than leave you unhappy, even though we cannot refund.
