New survey reveals Londoners’ alien survival plans

UF-No! Londoners share the first things they’d do if Martians invaded the city – as four in ten admit they’d be lucky to survive for one month

In the event of an actual Martian invasion, how likely do you think it is that you’d survive?

A new survey by Layered Reality, the company behind Jeff Wayne’s The War of The World: The Immersive Experience, has revealed that for most Londoners, the answer is not very likely at all.

In fact, the poll found that a third of Londoners believe they’re unlikely to survive if hostile Martians invaded Earth.

What’s more, four in ten believe they’d survive less than one month in the event of a Martian attack.

Those polled reveal the first things they’d do if Martians did indeed land on Earth tomorrow is find friends and family (28%), find essential supplies (21%) and run or hide (20%). One in ten say they’d say hello.

Others say they’d ask the Martians to take them back to their planet with them (7%), while some (8%) admit they’d get intimate with the nearest human.

Four in ten say they’d save their children, their partner and themselves first in the event of a Martian invasion.

It seems a large portion of the nation’s population love pets more than people too, with almost a fifth of Londoners revealing they’d save their pet before anyone else.

Andrew McGuinness, CEO of Layered Reality, said: “Extraterrestrial life remains one of the world’s biggest curiosities, so it’s no wonder that Londoners today are thinking about the possibility of them invading Earth.

“Layered Reality’s Jeff Wayne’s The War of The World: The Immersive Experience gives people an opportunity to travel back to 1898 and experience escaping a Martian-occupied Victorian England in an action-packed journey through the classic tale of The War of The Worlds, all set to Jeff Wayne’s iconic score. However, we want Brits to feel prepared to face the real thing if they ever need to.

“That’s why, we’re launching a series of free Martian survival events throughout September, including an expert talk on extraterrestrial life as well as a survival station, providing tips and advice on how to survive an invasion.”

Despite more than one third of Londoners (36%) saying they think about Earth being invaded by Martians at least once a year, half reveal they feel unprepared for a hostile Martian invasion.

Layered Reality’s Martian survival events will run on various dates throughout September. More information to be announced at here.

Those wishing to test their survival skills with Jeff Wayne’s The War of The World: The Immersive Experience can enjoy £5 two or more general admission tickets for the experience from now until 1st December 2024 by entering the code MARTIAN2X7C at checkout.
