Spooky Celebrations in the Heart of Paddington

This Halloween, Merchant Square in Paddington is set to become the epicentre of eerie excitement, offering a cauldron of free, family-friendly activities guaranteed to bewitch West Londoners from 28th to 31st October.

    Pumpkin Carving Extravaganza

The Halloween festivities kick-off with a five-day pumpkin carving competition with local favourite eatery, Lockhouse. From Monday, 28th October to Wednesday, 30th October, aspiring artists can showcase their skills:

    – Children’s Carving: 12pm – 4pm

    – Adult Carving: 5pm – 8pm (last bookings at 8pm)

On Thursday, 31st October, face painting will add an extra layer of spookiness from 3pm – 5pm.

Participants can enter the competition by sharing photos of their creations on Instagram, tagging @Merchantsquareldn and @Lockhouselondon. Prizes include a family ticket to Warner Bros Studio: The Making of Harry Potter and a £100 Lockhouse gift voucher.

    Frankenweenie Under the Stars

On Wednesday, 30th October at 3pm, Merchant Square presents a free outdoor screening of Tim Burton’s “Frankenweenie” on the Big Screen. Moviegoers are encouraged to dress up as their favourite characters and enjoy the film with complimentary blankets and hot chocolate.

    Spectacular Pumpkin Display

The Halloween celebration culminates on Thursday, 31st October, with a mesmerising display of over 300 carved pumpkins illuminating the night sky, creating an unforgettable autumn spectacle.

“We’re thrilled to transform Merchant Square into a Halloween wonderland,” said Echo Pan, Events Manage at Merchant Square. “From pumpkin carving to outdoor cinema, we’re offering a range of free activities that capture the spirit of the season and bring our community together.”

All events are free to attend, though pumpkin carving requires a £5 refundable deposit to secure a booking.
