Humanscale, the leader in products that create a healthier and more comfortable place to work, is proud to present ‘Connected,’ during Orgatec (22-25 October). Situated in Hall 7.1, Humanscale through ‘Connected’ reveals a world where workspace design, ergonomic wellness, and environmental impact are intricately interwoven, shaping individual experiences and the global ecosystem. This showcase advocates for a system approach, where sustainability principles, intelligent design and flexible work models converge. The ‘Connected’ exhibit at Orgatec illuminates a powerful web of relationships.

Sergio Silva VP, Design & Innovation at Humanscale explains, “By harmonising the principles of sustainability, intelligent design, and flexible work models, our commitment to responsible manufacturing becomes a catalyst for industry change. Together, Humanscale creates a portfolio of products that not only nurtures a sense of community and responsibility, but also propels us towards a future where our connection with each other and the Earth thrive in coexistence. This is a call to action, a chance to weave a brighter future where purpose, well-being, and sustainability are not separate threads, but a unified mosaic pieced together by all of us.”

The exhibit intentionally highlights two key concepts: “Ergonomics Everywhere,” which promotes ergonomic well-being beyond the traditional office setting, and “Planet Positive,” which advocates for a reimagined supply chain that equally prioritises the needs of the environment and people.

    Ergonomics Everywhere

The traditional office is undergoing a metamorphosis: The rise of ‘Hybrid Life’ demands a new design language – furniture approaches that go beyond the dedicated workstation. Humanscale steps forward with a curated collection that prioritises ergonomic well-being and environmental stewardship wherever work happens. Designed for the home office, meeting rooms, bustling ‘third places’ or collaborative workspaces, Humanscale’s ecosystem of products foster a sense of connection, wellness, and productivity in the evolving work landscape.

    Planet Positive

By pioneering a redesigned supply chain that prioritises the need of the natural world alongside those of people, Humanscale’s Planet Positive approach encompasses wildlife preservation, social responsibility, and the reversal of carbon emissions. Humanscale’s third party certifications like B Corp, the Living Product Challenge (LPC), Declare, and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) inspires others to raise the bar for responsible practices across the industry. Together, through transparency and leadership, we can create a more sustainable future.

The stand will be divided into specially curated zones including Ergonomics Everywhere, Pro-grade Workstations and Meeting Collection. Each zone will showcase Humanscale’s award-winning designs that enhance health and comfort in the workplace. Attendees will also get an exclusive preview of new product launches, including Diffrient Lounge, Float Gather, Float Mini, Float Micro, and Sedeo.

    Freedom 25

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the iconic Freedom Chair. Innovative and timeless, the Freedom Headrest Chair continues to lead as the most ergonomic task chair available. Niels Diffrient’s visionary design revolutionised traditional seating by offering exceptional support and effortlessly adapting to each user, setting a new standard for ergonomic excellence.

    Diffrient Lounge Chair

Humanscale presents its first lounge chair, ‘Diffrient Lounge,’ on display for the first time internationally. Conceptualised by Niels Diffrient, the lounge combines superior ergonomics with outstanding craftsmanship, ideal for work and relaxation. It revolutionises home seating through unparalleled adjustability, stemming from meticulous ergonomics.

    Sedeo

    Sedeo

Crafted to deliver ergonomic support and aesthetic appeal to bar and counter-height surfaces, Sedeo is made with tactile, warm materials, creating a welcoming atmosphere in both formal and informal settings. Designed by industry icon Don Chadwick, and drawing inspiration from the iconic designs of Wegner, Eames, and Nelson, the Sedeo Stool balances form and function beautifully.

    Float Gather, Mini, & Micro

Designed to bring people together, Float Gather’s seamless height adjustment allows everyone to find their comfort level, promoting active collaboration and engagement.

Movement is essential to long-term health, especially throughout the workday. Research shows even three minutes of standing for every hour spent sitting reaps enormous benefits. Float Mini allows you to move from sitting to standing and back again, effortlessly.

Float Micro is the ultimate height-adjustable table for lower seating, combining first class function and convenience. Perfect for laptop use, its sleek, compact design goes from couch to desk level and can be stowed away or transformed into a stylish end table when not in use.

All Float tables adjust without electricity making them a versatile addition to offices, meeting rooms, social spaces and anywhere that work or collaboration occurs. Together, the Float Family provides comprehensive support for various work modes, ensuring that every workspace, no matter how informal, can be ergonomically optimised.
Freedom, the chair that changed the way the world sits: Bob King, Founder and CEO of Humanscale

10am Wednesday 23 October at the #InspiredHybridOffice Stage in Hall 7, Bob King will take the stage at Orgatec as part of the official speakers’ program, where he will showcase how Niels Diffrient’s Freedom chair has quietly evolved into the “chair of power” and the preferred choice of the global elite. Niels’s innovative design approach helped create a product that is both unique and timeless. The fact that the Freedom chair remains just as relevant today—if not more so—than when it was first conceived 25 years ago is a true testament to Neils’s genius.
