After a 10-year hiatus, The Royal charity, Elephant Family, and Clarence Court eggs, are proud to announce the return of their much-loved egg-shaped sculptures to Chelsea, London to raise funds for Elephant Family projects through a celebration of art, philanthropy, and Easter merriment. From 20th March-14th April 2024, these colourful art installations, designed by some of the world’s most notable artists, will be scattered around Chelsea, for visitors and local Londoners alike to enjoy.

Elephant Family has dazzled the world with its public art displays since 2003; crafting masterpieces that not only captivate the imagination but also stir hearts and ignite change. Founded by HRH The Queen’s late brother, the visionary Mark Shand, Elephant Family stands as a beacon of hope for Asian wildlife conservation. Each striking, large-scale egg has been creatively imagined and handcrafted by a leading figure from art, design,
architecture and beyond. Names include Anya Hindmarch, Philip Colbert, Charlotte Colbert, Dan Baldwin, James McQueen, Bellerby Globe, Natasha Kumar, Lily Lewis, Allegra Hicks, Rebecca Campbell, Rob Ryan and the dynamic duo Rob and Nick Carter. Hicks, recognised internationally for her designs for interiors and upholstery, candidly explained her motivation behind being part of the project, stating that, “Wildlife conservation has become essential for our future”.

At the heart of the Little Egg Hunt is a noble mission to generate vital funds for on-the-ground projects, championed by the Royal charity, Elephant Family. With every egg hunted, we also hope to raise awareness of critical conservation issues, to make art accessible to all and to start conversations about conservation.

HRH Princess Eugenie also expressed her support, “I’m delighted to support this year’s big egg hunt in support of Elephant Family. A wonderful celebration of art and a reminder about nurturing the incredible animals that share our planet.”

This year’s exhibition comes at an opportune moment, as the Charity commemorates the 10-year anniversary of the famed conservationist’s passing, as well as 10 years since the previous Egg Hunt took place. His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty The Queen are joint Royal Presidents of Elephant Family and are passionate supporters of their remarkable conservation work.

“With 10 years since his passing and his successes of the Big Egg Hunt NYC, Mark Shand’s spirit of adventure and dedication to conservation continue to inspire us all. Through the Little Egg Hunt and beyond, we honour his legacy by fostering creativity, spreading joy, and safeguarding the majestic creatures he held dear.” Richard Hawkes, CEO, Elephant Family.

The Little Egg Hunt serves as a prelude to the grand spectacle of the Big Egg Hunt 2025. Over Easter next year, 200 eggs will grace London’s iconic landmarks, showcasing masterful artistry and raising awareness across the cityscape, for the purposes of raising money for Elephant Family’s important conservation work through an auction of the eggs.

In the spirit of collaboration and community, Elephant Family are proud to join forces with Clarence Court eggs for The Little Egg Hunt 2024, as well as partnering with IBI International Logistics and Cadogan, one of the UK’s most esteemed landowners, to execute this wonderful exhibition.

Adrian Gott, CEO of Clarence Court eggs, said, “It’s a great honour for us all at Clarence Court to continue our support of Elephant Family and its fantastic conservation work. The vibrancy and artistic expression of these superb giant egg designs are a fitting way to celebrate Easter, and I hope the public are look forward to seeing them in situ around Chelsea as much as I am!”
