Going for Gold: £100 train credit up for grabs for lucky passengers with Seatfrog’s ‘Golden Ticket’

Hanging around waiting for your train isn’t usually something to look forward to, but it could pay off for ten lucky travellers as rail app Seatfrog launches its golden ticket giveaway on Tuesday, 10th December.

Mr Frog, Seatfrog’s friendly amphibian mascot, is jumping at the chance to give the gift of rail travel and will be in King’s Cross Station with the special golden tickets next week (from Monday 9th December). The lucky winners will be picked at random from those waiting for a train at the station.  The tickets can be exchanged for £100 Seatfrog credit that can be used on any future journeys.

Carolyn Bishop, Marketing Lead at Seatfrog, said, “It’s never fun to wait for a train, but at this time of year when it’s cold and busy, it can be even more gloomy than usual. We want to give people a reason to go on their journey with a bounce in their step, just like Mr Frog, and our golden giveaway could be just the ticket.

“We’ve already saved our train passengers millions of pounds on their fares, but we want to go one step further and gift some lucky passengers a trip on us. If you’re waiting for a train at Kings Cross next week, you could be one of our lucky winners.”

Seatfrog has revolutionised the rail industry by offering passengers discounts on train fares, saving Brits over £105 million since its launch in 2018.

The app’s money-saving features include auctions to bid for empty first-class seats from £11, allowing passengers to switch their inflexible fixed-price tickets with Train Swap and Secret Fare, where users get up to 50% off for specifying a preferred time window for travel (rather than a specific time). Seatfrog then sends them their ticket 24 hours before departure, deciding which train they travel on.
