    StayCotswold Holiday Cottages near the ‘Big Cheese’ of Extreme Sports

    Bank Holiday Monday 27th May, sees hordes of daring racers line up at noon to chase a giant wheel of Double Gloucester cheese 300 yards down the 45-degree angle of Cooper’s Hill in the Cotswolds.

    English eccentricity at its maddest, this long-dating tradition can also be viewed at a distance, on a picnic blanket (cheese optional) whilst enjoying the countryside ancation offersd the thought of a cosy cottage to call home for a few days.

    Luxury Cotswold holiday cottage firm, StayCotswold, is offering late availability prices, with up to 15% on stays on properties nearby.

    While availability lasts, you can stay in the three-bedroom Coach House on Cooper’s Hill itself, which is dog-friendly and has bright open-plan interiors. Starting on May 27, four nights’ self-catering for six costs from £629.

    StayCotswold also has properties in the nearby town of Painswick, known as ‘The Queen of the Cotswolds’ with its elegant architecture and Rococo Garden, is just 10 minutes away by car.

    The views from Cooper’s Hill are incredible and StayCotswold has over 200 picturesque holiday homes to choose from in the Cotswolds region – over half of which are dog-friendly. Cirencester ‘the capital of the Cotswolds’ is half an hour away and the spa town of Cheltenham, with its array of stylish shops, parks and cultural attractions takes only a 20-minute drive.

    Painswick: Cost: 27th – 31st May – £431.46
    Church Mews, sleeps 4, pub nearby. It’s a former library so has plenty of character like high vaulted ceilings and wooden beams. It also has off street parking.

    Cirencester: Cost: 27th – 31st May – £1,063.81
    The Byre (Ampney St Mary, near Cirencester), sleeps 6, in a village location. A grade 2 listed home (17thcentury) with beautiful charming period features including exposed stone walls, beams and trusses.
