Acclaimed comedy duo The Gavin Sisters are returning to the stage after a 3-year break for a night of wellness and laughter in London this month.
During their Comedy Meets Wellness show, Sharon and Lauretta Gavin – from North London – will detail their transformational health journey from stressed, red wine-drinking Chinese take-out aficionados to thriving advocates of a more healthy, plant-based lifestyle.
The performances will take place at the renowned Canal Cafe Theatre on 11 and 25 September at 7.30pm and the sisters will share the simple but life-changing ways they have hacked their health over the past few years, in a story that is one of courage, determination, resilience….. and some comedy moments along the way.
With laughter, and maybe a few tears, the duo will take the audience on a heartfelt rollercoaster, detailing Sharon’s diagnoses of a rare autoimmune disease which at one point left her wheelchair-bound, through their divorces and into a whole new life of health and sisterhood.
Sharon Gavin said: “We’ve wanted to do this show for a while now and the time feels right to get back on stage to share our journey, our learnings, our failures, challenges, wins and everything in between! When I look back to the way I felt a few years ago, compared to now, I truly feel like a different person and I am so grateful to feel healthy and to be living a life that I truly enjoy. And to have been through it all with my sister makes it even more special.”
Lauretta Gavin added: “Life can be a rough ride sometimes and we know that hearing about other people’s journeys can really help people navigate their own challenges. With this show we want to keep it real – we’re two single mums who have managed to find a way to be healthier and happier and we truly believe it we can do it, then so can many others! So we’re looking forward to sharing our story – with lots of laughs along the way.”
Through humour, relatable anecdotes, and comedy sketches, they’ll share valuable lessons on harnessing the power of habits, crafting a supportive environment, and embracing adversity as a catalyst for growth.
