Santa Claus is coming to Southside Shopping Centre this Christmas, spreading festive magic in and around the centre.

The Wandsworth-based shopping centre is set to introduce a Santa’s Grotto, which promises to bring joy, wonder and Christmas cheer to families and children throughout the festive season.

Children can get in to the Christmas spirit at the one-of-a-kind experience which will feature crafts with the Christmas elves and the chance to decorate their own bauble, before heading to see the jolly man in red in his cosy Christmas cabin to share their wishes and snap a keepsake photo.

Each child will receive a special, age-appropriate gift from Santa himself and have the opportunity to tell him what they’re hoping to receive under the tree this year.

Southside’s Christmas grotto will be open every weekend from Saturday 30th November until Sunday 22nd December from 11am – 4:30pm, along with 23rd and 24th December, to ensure little ones can make all their last-minute requests.

SEND Sessions will be held from 10:15am -10:45am on Sundays throughout December. The sessions will run at a reduced capacity and provide a calm environment for customers to enjoy the experience.

Tickets for the 30-minute festive experience are priced at £6.00* per child, aged 0 – 10 years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Santa’s Grotto will be situated of the first floor of the shopping centre and will welcome walk-ups; however, it’s recommended that bookings are made online in advance, as this magical experience is expected to be popular.

Rebecca Ruddle, Centre Director at Southside Shopping Centre, said: “We’re excited to welcome Santa to Southside this year. Christmas is a wonderful time for families to come together, create cherished memories and enjoy the festive atmosphere, and we’re excited to play a part in spreading the holiday cheer.

“The centre is now adorned with twinkling decorations once again and will come alive with festive activities. We can’t wait to see all the smiling faces at Southside over the festive season and wish everyone a very merry Christmas.”

On Saturday 30th November, Wandsworth Town BID will host its annual Christmas Festival at Southside Shopping Centre, offering a day filled with festive fun. Visitors can enjoy captivating live performances throughout the centre and have a chance to win some Christmas-themed prizes. As the evening falls, guests are invited to gather at the centre’s piazza and witness the Christmas tree illuminate during a special light switch on.
