It’s time to batter up! To mark National Fish & Chip Day on Friday 6th June, Fish ‘N’ Chips is rolling into London’s Camden Market with a one-day-only pop-up like no other. As a firm favourite in the 80’s, we’re serving the iconic snack like never before. Even better, it’s being fronted by none other than football legend and national treasure, Chris Kamara.

From 11am to 3.30pm, the nation’s favourite snack will pop-up in its ‘Nothin’ Fishy’ van, serving up free chip butties and snacks in the sunshine.

Plaiced up in three ways: a cone, a chip butty, as well as an unexpected range of sides and condiments, guests will be enjoying Fish ‘N’ Chips biscuits like they’ve never eaten before – for free!

The pop-up comes after research which explores the nation’s habits when it comes to our favourite dish. When looking at how we eat it, research shows we still can’t resist the timeless charm of ketchup (41%), mayonnaise (22%) or the undisputed OG’s of fish and chips with salt (57%) and vinegar (55%).

Surprisingly however, traditional favourites such as curry sauce (18%), gravy (10%), and brown sauce (7%) come out less favourable when enjoying our chippy supper.

There’s also a small but spirited group of food adventurers out there, with one in 30 people choosing to pair their fish and chips with unexpected condiments. From custard and peanut butter to maple syrup, strawberry jam, and even chocolate spread, these bold choices suggest that for a few daring diners, the dish is beginning a new flavour journey.

And it doesn’t stop there. When it comes to sides, we’re branching out way beyond the basics. Mushy peas (35%) and baked beans (11%) remain firm favourites, but surprisingly, one in five Brits now enjoy unusual accompaniments including pineapple rings, jellied eel, and ice cream.

TV personality and sporting legend, Chris Kamara says: “I’m working with Fish ‘N’ Chips to bring this iconic lunchtime snack back into the spotlight, in the one and only Camden. Come on down and grab your free butty and tasters on National Fish and Chip Day, Friday 6th June.”

Marketing Controller for Burton’s Fish ‘N’ Chips, Sital Parmar, says: “We’re bringing Fish ‘N’ Chips back to the punters – expect unusual flavours, nostalgic bites, and a bit of British quirk. We’re delighted to be serving up our snacks, with Kammy behind the counter, and you can expect plenty of smiles right in the heart of Camden.”

Swing by Camden Market this National Fish & Chip Day (Friday 6th June) to grab your complimentary fish and chip butties, free signed t-shirts, and a good dose of Kammy-style fun as we celebrate the nation’s crunchiest Fish‘N’Chips biscuit snack!
