CHAOS app (CHAOS), the unified space for music creators to collaborate, communicate and create, has officially launched. Now available on IOS and Android, the team behind CHAOS, founded by 19 year old Ruhan Verma, has spent the last 3 months building the first of its kind in the industry so creators stay in sync wherever they are, at every stage of production .
The app was born out of real life experience. Founder, Ruhan, taught himself to produce at 13, signing soon after to work with major artists worldwide. After dropping out of University at 19, he set out to solve a lifelong frustration, how messy the creative side is. He spent years watching his creative work get fragmented across endless messaging threads, disconnected files and siloed software, making collaboration cumbersome and attributions an uphill battle. Verma lost thousands of dollars producing music due to this issue and knew the situation wasn’t sustainable. CHAOS allows the entire creative process to live in one place with clear attribution - this way artists can move faster, collaborate instantly, and build real momentum.
In the lead up to launching, CHAOS ran an open demo competition with the team reviewing over 600 entries. One of those entries was LIFEWITHOUTEXPOSURE, Aidan, a 22 year old producer from Cambridge who was making music in his shed. He found CHAOS organically, through a collaborator who was already using it in a session. Aidan had no label and no manager, and within a month of being discovered he sold out his first headline show before he had released a single song.
Ruhan Verma, Founder of CHAOS said: “Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to work with some incredible artists and producers, but time and time again, I saw first hand how great creative work gets lost because of disconnected, outdated tools. We have launched CHAOS today to change just that, building one place for creators to make music with ease and clear visibility. Not only are we defining the future of the music industry, we are also creating a space to discover talent, and Aidan is evidence of that. We are the next talent discoverability platform as well as an all-in-one workspace, and we couldn’t be more excited to now be on this journey with our users. We are here to make a real difference to a real problem.”
Aidan Gilmour, Producer, LIFEWITHOUTEXPOSURE: “I first met Ruhan after one of my songs did well in a CHAOS Demo Drop earlier this year. Pretty quickly, I realised he was building something I’d always needed. Making music involves so much back and forth between different apps, whether that’s sharing ideas, sending files, getting feedback or just keeping track of what you’re working on. CHAOS brings all of that into one place and makes the whole process feel a lot more natural. For me, it’s about having a space where creators can actually build their body of work, collaborate with people and share what they’re creating. Especially at a time when the music industry can feel so disconnected, I think that’s really important. What excites me most is the community that’s already forming around CHAOS and the opportunities it creates for artists to connect, collaborate and build something together. It feels like a space where new collaborations can grow and where everyone has the chance to create together.”
Provenance tracking, seed funding and London headquarters
CHAOS has built a first-of-its-kind provenance layer that fingerprints every contribution and captures the creative process as it unfolds, giving creators complete visibility and control over their work while ensuring everyone involved receives the credit they deserve.
Last week, CHAOS announced raising £1 million in investment led by Bridford Group, with participation from leading international music distribution company Amuse and a group of investors and high profile operators across the global music industry. The company has also opened its new London office, complete with an in-house recording studio for artists and producers. Its six-person team spans London and New York, with every member a musician or producer in their own right, bringing firsthand experience of the creative process to the product they’re building. CHAOS has grown into a hybrid UK and US operation, with a waitlist of more than 15,000 creators gaining access from today.
