Dr Leah Totton launches independent guide : what cosmetic treatments are really worth the money

Dr Leah Totton is lifting the lid on the booming non-surgical cosmetic treatment industry with the launch of The Ageless Blueprint — a new independent digital guide revealing which treatments she rates, which she doesn’t, and where she believes consumers should, and shouldn’t, spend their money.

Drawing on 14 years in aesthetic medicine and experience treating tens of thousands of cosmetic patients, Dr Leah gives some of the industry’s best-known treatments her honest ratings out of 10, alongside straightforward explanations of what they can realistically achieve, their limitations, potential downsides and who they may be suitable for.

From Botox, fillers and microneedling to lasers, skin tightening, collagen stimulators and polynucleotides, The Ageless Blueprint is designed to cut through treatment trends, social-media hype and industry marketing, giving consumers practical information to help them make more informed choices before spending money on cosmetic treatments.

The guide also addresses many of the questions Dr Leah has encountered repeatedly throughout her clinical career - including what to do when results aren’t as expected, common treatment concerns, and how to approach cosmetic treatments at different ages and budgets.

    Independence and Clinical Transparency

Dr Leah won BBC’s The Apprentice before founding and scaling Dr Leah Clinics into an award-winning multimillion-pound aesthetics business. She subsequently sold the company but continues to serve as its Medical Director.

In a further move to protect the independence of The Ageless Blueprint, Dr Leah resigned from her pharmaceutical Key Opinion Leader roles ahead of its publication.

Dr Leah said: "There are a lot of cosmetic treatment options available and it can be confusing and overwhelming to patients and difficult to separate which treatments are right for them and they actually would benefit from and which are not worth the cost.

“I wanted to create something I felt was missing from the industry: a genuinely honest cosmetic guide written by a doctor, that tells consumers what I really think after 14 years of performing these treatments and seeing their results on tens of thousands of patients.

“That means saying when I think a treatment is excellent, when I think the results are more limited than the marketing might suggest, and when I simply don’t think it represents good value for money.

“Being honest and as unbiased as realistically possible was incredibly important to me when creating The Ageless Blueprint. I stepped down from my pharmaceutical Key Opinion Leader roles so that consumers can be confident that nobody is paying me and I am not contractually bound to speak highly of any treatment in this guide.

“Ultimately, I want women to have better information before making decisions about their face, their skin and how they spend their money.”

Unbiased Ratings and Expanding Beyond the Clinic

Unlike much of the cosmetic treatment content consumers encounter online, no pharmaceutical company or treatment manufacturer has paid for inclusion in The Ageless Blueprint or influenced its treatment ratings.

Every rating reflects Dr Leah’s own professional assessment, clinical experience and opinion.

The guide also marks the expansion of Dr Leah Totton’s platform beyond the clinic setting. Alongside independent cosmetic consumer education, Dr Leah Totton is offering private remote cosmetic consultations and business consultancy, drawing on her experience both as a doctor and as the founder of a multimillion-pound consumer business.

The Ageless Blueprint is available to download digitally from Dr Leah Totton.
