Hundreds of Families Join Pampers, Peppa Pig and Jordan Banjo at Ministry of Sound for Rave

For decades, Ministry of Sound has been where Londoners go to dance until the early hours. Last Sunday, the legendary Elephant & Castle club opened its doors to a very different crowd: more than a thousand babies, toddlers and their grown-ups, many of them heading to their very first rave.

‘No Leaks, Just Beats’, hosted by Pampers in partnership with Peppa Pig on Sunday 25th October, turned the famous dancefloor into a family party. Dancer, DJ and dad-of-three Jordan Banjo led a mass dance-along, while UK garage favourites Artful Dodger and Wideboys took to the decks – a line-up that will have reminded plenty of London mums and dads of their own nights out.

The event also marked the global premiere of the new Evie’s Nappy Pants Dance music video, and the afternoon’s big moment came when Jordan shared the decks with a very special guest DJ: Daddy Pig.

“It’s been great to be a part of an event that gives babies and grown-ups a chance to dance, have fun and make memories together,” said Jordan. “The track is incredibly catchy – and sharing the decks with Daddy Pig himself was a real highlight.”

Life in London moves fast, and for many parents juggling commutes, work and childcare, finding time to simply play can be a challenge. According to the Pampers Baby Report, which looks at family life during a baby’s first 1,000 days, one in ten UK parents say they rarely get enough uninterrupted time to play with their child.

The baby rave was designed to encourage families to make time for movement, interaction and play – and to show that it doesn’t have to be complicated. A song, a bit of space and a willingness to look a little silly are all you need.

The routine at the heart of the event was created in partnership with Speech and Language Therapist Emma O’Dwyer, founder of Baby Speak. By bringing together simple actions and repetition, the moves are designed to encourage babies and toddlers to join in and to support early communication skills.

The song itself celebrates a moment every parent will recognise: when little ones become more active and wriggly during nappy changes, which can be a sign they may be ready to switch from taped nappies to nappy pants.

Yi Chang, Pampers Brand Director, said: “At Pampers, we know that some of the most meaningful family moments can come from simple everyday interactions and moments of fun. Through our partnership with Peppa Pig, we wanted to create a playful way for parents and little ones to move, interact and celebrate an important developmental milestone together. What better way to launch it than at a baby rave?!”

With half-term under way for many London families, and darker evenings now the clocks have gone back, the dance is an easy way to fill a rainy afternoon without leaving the house – no tickets, travel or Tube journey required.

The Evie’s Nappy Pants Dance song is available to stream now, and the music video can be watched on YouTube, so families across the capital can learn the moves together in their living rooms. A few minutes before bath time, after breakfast or between nursery runs is all it takes.

Whether your little one made it to Ministry of Sound or not, there’s never been an easier excuse to turn up the music and dance together.
