Peppersmith started with a simple idea: if you’re going to have a mint or a piece of gum, it might as well be a good one. Which is why only the best British mint makes it into their mints, gum and pastilles.
Their peppermint oil comes from Black Mitcham mint grown on Summerdown, a family farm in Hampshire. This rare variety of mint is prized for its deep, rich flavour and unmistakable freshness, and the leaves are carefully harvested and steam-distilled to capture the natural essential oil that gives Peppersmith its proper minty character.
Yes, it’s slower, more artisanal and a world away from the mass-produced mint flavourings used by other brands, but when flavour matters this much, there’s no other way to do it.
‘It’s all about the mint,’ says Peppersmith CEO (and Master of Mint) Kevin Grant. ‘We obsess over what goes into our mints and gum because flavour matters. Using Black Mitcham mint and traditional distillation methods creates a freshness and depth that mainstream mint flavourings simply can’t match. We do things properly – we are the proper mint.’
Sweetened with teeth-protecting xylitol
Alongside premium peppermint oil, all of Peppersmith products are made with natural ingredients and sweetened with xylitol, a plant-based sweetener scientifically proven to help protect teeth.
100% natural, with 40% fewer calories than cane sugar, xylitol actively fights against tooth decay by stopping bacteria from sticking to teeth, lowering plaque build-up and reducing the risk of cavities and bad breath. It’s so good in fact, its use in chewing gum and confectionery is approved by dentists and the Oral Health Foundation.
Peppersmith takes the same thoughtful approach to packaging as it does to ingredients, with sustainability treated as a responsibility, not a trend. Recycled or recyclable materials are used where possible, reducing plastic and minimising overpackaging, and there’s a focus on honest, continual progress, responsible supply chains and mindful consumption.

The result? A smarter, health-conscious choice that’s better for you, full-on flavour without compromise, and a considered alternative that’s better for the planet.
Enjoy Peppersmith after a meal, on the go or after a coffee, to keep teeth healthy and breath refreshed, or simply because you can’t get enough of the flavour.
Peppersmith mints, gum and pastilles cost from £1.50 for a single pocket pack, and are available from Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Co-op, Holland & Barrett and Wholefoods London, as well as online at peppersmith.co.uk.
