New West End Company and HBO Max today announce a landmark partnership to bring the magic of Harry Potter to Oxford Street this Christmas.
The collaboration will transform one of London’s most iconic destinations into a festive celebration of one of the world’s most beloved stories, bringing a host of Harry Potter-inspired celebrations and attractions to shoppers, commuters, international visitors and fans throughout the festive season.
The partnership is timed to celebrate the Christmas launch of new HBO Original TV series Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, alongside the opening of Harry Potter Shop Oxford Street—the UK’s largest official Harry Potter flagship shop, which opens its doors to wizards, witches and Muggles on 4th November. Together, these moments ensure London’s West End is transformed with Hogwarts magic this festive season.
Bringing Magic and Wonder to Oxford Street
Alongside Oxford Street’s iconic star Christmas lights, visitors will be treated to a series of specially created illuminated designs to bring the world of Harry Potter to life.
Dee Corsi, CEO, New West End Company, states, “This will be a historic moment for Oxford Street. Bringing the world of Harry Potter to the street will create an unforgettable Christmas experience and showcase the West End at its very best. It is an exciting opportunity for retailers and a magical moment for shoppers, visitors and fans alike.”
Further information on the Christmas programme, the official light switch-on, plus more details and visuals of the Harry Potter lights, will be released in the coming weeks.
