Grand Theft Getaway: Gamers can send their loved ones packing for GTA 6 launch

With the highly anticipated launch of GTA 6 approaching, leading lifestyle accommodation brand Generator is giving gamers an opportunity to win a weekend of uninterrupted gameplay, by banishing their partners, housemates or family members to Amsterdam.

Generator is giving gamers the chance to nominate someone they live with for a three-night getaway, providing the perfect opportunity to enjoy launch weekend without interruption. Dubbed Grand Theft Getaway, the competition comes as excitement reaches fever pitch for one of the most eagerly anticipated video game releases of all time.

The winning nominee will head to Amsterdam on Thursday 19 November, the day GTA 6 is released, and return on Sunday 22 November. While the gamer dives into Vice City in peace, the lucky nominee gets to escape to the Dutch capital with a three-night trip for two at Generator Amsterdam – with its social spaces designed to meet fellow travellers from around the world - alongside £500 for the winner to put towards flights, travel and spending money.

Escape to Amsterdam while gamers explore Vice City

Annajane Güzel, Vice President of Marketing, said: ‘GTA 6 has been years in the making, and we expect a vast majority of gamers to disappear into Vice City for the weekend when it finally lands. Gaming is no longer a niche pastime, and big releases have become huge cultural moments, with fans booking time off, planning marathon sessions and sharing every second online. But that leaves many on the sidelines and Generator’s Grand Theft Getaway is for the loved ones who put up with it. While the gamer explores Vice City, they can enjoy a weekend away at Generator Amsterdam, with its fun social spaces designed for meeting likeminded travellers and great location for exploring the city – it is the perfect base for a real-life adventure.’

To enter, gamers simply need to follow Generator on either TikTok, Instagram or YouTube Shorts, like and comment on the post on either Generator’s Instagram post here, TikTok post here, or YouTube Short here tagging the person or people they'd send to Amsterdam.
