The New East End Pub Celebrating Dockland Heritage, Great British Food and Community Spirit

Canary Wharf is set to welcome a brand-new pub this September with the arrival of The Tallyman, a characterful East London-inspired destination designed to be a community-led boozer with great food, live music and warm hospitality.

Opening on Chancellor Passage in Canary Wharf, The Tallyman draws on the area’s industrial past and rich dockland heritage. Taking its name from the tallyman - a trusted figure on the historic docks who connected workers, ship owners and customs officials - the pub aims to bring a sense of authenticity, community and warmth to one of London’s fastest-growing neighbourhoods.

Created by the team behind multiple award-winning London venues, Hammersmith seafood restaurant, Faber, The Somers Town Coffee House in King’s Cross and The Victoria in Mile End, The Tallyman will be officially open for bookings from the 21st September with walk-in availability from the 18th September.

The Tallyman’s menu has been curated to celebrate British and sustainable produce as well as champion timeless pub classics with an elevated delivery, with an ever-changing specials board from the dining room. Guests can expect familiar pub favourites done properly, such as pies, steak, burgers and shellfish. Developed by Chef Craig Johnson all dishes ensure a focus on quality ingredients and seasonality, with stand outs including Cornish Brill, Game Pie and the iconic Lobster Roll made famous by sister restaurant Faber’s Lobster Lunch Club as well as all the traditional favourites. British wines are a focus on the menu, alongside with artisan spirits and classic brands, with a big focus on cask ales and British brewed beer.

Adding some traditional pub warmth to the typically brutalist contemporary architecture of the area, the pub space itself will deliver an authentic public house feel, with rich woods, hand-crafted stained glass and a piano for impromptu gigs. All creating an informal but quality setting, with nods to dockland legacy, including outdoor space that sits on the water front.

The Tallyman will open seven days a week, from 11am until late, with live music, exceptional food and genuine hospitality. Sunday’s will celebrate roast dinners, alongside a local residents night with upcoming music, pub quiz and happy hour.
