Tenzo, the real-time data and analytics platform for hospitality operators, has launched the sector’s first LLM-agnostic AI Connector, enabling restaurant and hospitality teams to ask queries in relation to their live sales, labour, inventory and operational data to inform immediate decision-making.
Most multi-site operators now use between five and fifteen separate systems to manage sales, labour scheduling, inventory, reviews, reservations, team feedback and other operational functions. Managers have access to an increasing number of dashboards, reports and metrics that promise to help move performance. Yet, as the typical hospitality stack continues to grow, without aggregation and faster access to data across systems, so too does the gap between insight and action.
With Tenzo’s AI connector, restaurant and hospitality teams can now ask questions of their data in real time and in plain English using the company’s chosen large language model. The LLM can access live operational data from across the business and return a joined-up answer in a matter of seconds.
This compresses the time between identifying that something is wrong and taking appropriate action. For example, a general manager who previously waited for a weekly report to identify a labour variance can now ask the question directly and receive an immediate answer drawing on POS, labour scheduling and reviews data.
Other examples of questions teams can ask include:
“Summarise yesterday's end of day reports from my GMs and give me 3 recommendations moving forward.”
“What are my most profitable hours by day of the week for the last month comparing sales to labour and food costs?”
“How does my average spend-per-head on Friday evenings compare to similar sites, and which of my locations is furthest below the benchmark?”
“Build a daily ops report for yesterday across all sites using our End of Night logs and POS discount data. Add a health scorecard covering sales, labour, reviews and GM reports and a list of actions for today.”
Built on the open Model Context Protocol (MCP) standard, Tenzo’s AI Connector is compatible with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and other leading LLMs today and in the future, allowing teams to use the platforms they already know.
With the addition of Tenzo’s AI Connector, operational data is aggregated and normalised into a single, structured layer, which informs the answer to all questions inputted into the LLM. Every metric is calculated consistently and each data point has hospitality context built in, ensuring the LLM understands industry and individual business concepts it otherwise wouldn’t, such as labour percentage, covers and like-for-like comparisons across sites.
The connector also applies permissioned access and ensures secure connections so that data is only accessible to users who require it for their role.
Christian Mouysset, co-Founder of Tenzo, said: “Hospitality has moved past the question of whether to invest in AI. The focus is now where AI actually changes P&L versus where it is simply another dashboard with a chatbot bolted on.
“We are not building a proprietary AI that customers are forced to use. The AI landscape is moving too quickly for anyone to bet on a single model/harness, and operators shouldn’t have to. Instead, what we’re doing at Tenzo is providing the data infrastructure to make the LLMs restaurant teams already use, work for their business.
“The result is AI insights that operators can trust and act upon.”
Early users of the Tenzo AI Connector are already seeing the benefits of asking their restaurant data direct questions rather than waiting for custom-built reports or dashboards. For details, visit: https://www.gotenzo.com/resources/case-study/
