What's On in October in Bond Street

As autumn arrives in London, the city's cultural and culinary calendar shifts into a new season, with art, design and dining taking centre stage.

At sketch, Mayfair’s iconic destination for bold design and culinary innovation, a new collaboration will be unveiled. In partnership with GREY GOOSE® Vodka, sketch will present a new large-scale installation by French artist and designer Camille Walala. Transforming the entrance of the Grade II*-listed building from 10 September to 10 November 2026, the installation will bring Walala’s distinctive visual language to Mayfair.

Best known for a fusion of geometric pattern and vibrant colour influenced by the Memphis movement, Ndebele art and Victor Vasarely, Walala brings her signature style to the collaboration. The project unites two distinctly French sensibilities: Walala’s Parisian roots and GREY GOOSE®’s single-origin French craftsmanship, brought together within one of London's most well-known settings. The installation opens during London Design Festival in September and runs through the duration of Frieze Week in October, marking the latest chapter in sketch’s ongoing commitment to the arts.

French Riviera Art and Seasonal Mayfair Dining

At the Royal Academy of Arts, Painting the French Riviera looks at how the French Riviera supported the rise of modern art, before becoming a travel destination and film location that epitomised midcentury sophistication.

The radiance of this beautiful location left an indelible mark on artists. It roused the imaginations not only of the 19th and 20th centuries' greatest painters – among them Picasso, Matisse, Cézanne, Renoir and Klein – but also of giants of literature, cinema and fashion, whose works helped define the carefree glamour and eternal romance of the Côte d’Azur.

The exhibition brings this story to life through more than 160 works, including paintings, sculpture, travel posters and film, spanning the period from the 1870s to the 1960s.

Alongside London’s autumn art and design calendar, new dining menus will also be available by then. A round-up of the new season will include locations such as Hakkasan, Il Gattopardo and Rosi at The Beaumont, among many more, offering another reason to explore the capital as the new season begins.
