Brand New ‘The Crossing Indian Bistro’ Opening in Ealing

The Crossing Indian Bistro is set to open its doors in Ealing this October, bringing its distinctive celebration of India’s regional food culture to West London.

Located at 5–6 The Greens, the new restaurant will welcome its first guests from 5th October, with a 10-day soft launch offering 50% off all food ahead of its official opening on 16th October.

The Ealing opening marks an exciting new chapter for The Crossing, which has grown from its beginnings in Dubai into an international restaurant brand with sites in Nice as well as the world-famous Galeries Lafayette, Paris. Following the opening of its first UK restaurant in Chapel Allerton, Leeds, in August 2026, Ealing becomes the brand’s second UK destination.

Regional Heritage and Inspired Culinary Storytelling

At The Crossing, Indian food is explored through the lens of the country’s remarkable regional diversity. Rather than treating India as one cuisine, the menu travels across its different regions and culinary traditions, drawing on distinctive ingredients, flavours and techniques to tell a broader story of the country through food.

The idea is at the heart of Chef-Founder Ankur Chakraborty’s inspiration for The Crossing. Growing up, Ankur travelled across India by train with his father, who worked for the Indian Railways, discovering the country’s diverse landscapes, flavours and food cultures. With more than two decades of experience across the international food scene, he has since showcased regional Indian cuisine in Dubai, Paris and Nice. At The Crossing, these childhood memories meet contemporary techniques, creating a menu rooted in tradition with a modern bistro approach.

Signature Curries, Street-Food Plates and Lunchtime Thalis

Diners in Ealing can expect a selection of The Crossing’s signature dishes, including Railway Lamb Curry, featuring slow-braised lamb and smoked Rogani Laal Maas curry, inspired by the restaurant’s railway story. Alleppey Prawn Curry takes inspiration from Kerala’s backwaters, combining poached prawns with coconut and turmeric, while Madras Mutton Pepper Fry brings together stir-fried curried lamb and mini idli.

The menu also features a selection of small plates designed for sharing, including Gunpowder Prawns and Kerala Fried Chicken, both showcasing the bold southern Indian flavours of spice and podi. Vegetarian options include Dal Moradabadi and The Crossing Chaat Bowl, offering contemporary interpretations of Indian-style street food.

Desserts continue the journey across India and beyond, with the Mango Serradura, inspired by Goa’s Portuguese influence and served with biscuit crumbs, alongside the Dubai Date Toffee Pudding, accompanied by house-made carrot halwa ice cream.

From 26th October, The Crossing will also introduce its £15 lunchtime Thali, giving Ealing diners the opportunity to experience a traditional Indian lunch served in traditional silverware. Guests can choose their main curry, served with Zeera Aloo, Saag Makai, Dal of the Day, Raita, House Pickle, Steamed Basmati Rice and freshly baked Tandoor Bread.

Arjun Singh, Culinary & Operations Manager for UK & France, said: “We’re proud to bring The Crossing Indian Bistro to Ealing and become part of its vibrant, diverse community. We want the restaurant to be a welcoming space for everything, from casual lunches to family meals, drinks and sharing dishes, bringing people together through great food and memorable experiences.”

Ankur Chakraborty, Chef-Founder of The Crossing Indian Bistro and co-founder of Lemon Butter, said: “This opening marks a new chapter and an opportunity to share our love for Indian cuisine with Ealing. We’re bringing India’s diverse food culture to life through its ingredients, traditions and techniques, with dishes inspired by stories from across the country. Our aim is to offer an experience that feels both familiar and exciting while building lasting connections with the local community.”

The Crossing Indian Bistro will open from 5th October, with a 50% off food soft launch running until 15th October ahead of the official opening on 16th October. The £15 Thali lunch will be available from 26th October. More information can be found on The Crossing Indian Bistro.
