Black Chalk launches new wine: HiDE.

Black Chalk, one of England's most celebrated wine producers, has launched a brand new sparkling wine: “HiDE”. To celebrate, the Hampshire-based producer has teamed up with London’s renowned HIDE restaurant, where the wine will be served by the glass, for a limited time only. You can either seek it out at the Piccadilly restaurant, or order it directly from Black Chalk’s estate, where it is available for £80: HiDE 2021 | Black Chalk – Black Chalk Wine
HiDE 2021 is a classic blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, sourced entirely from the Hide Vineyard, one of four vineyards on Black Chalk’s Hampshire estate. It is Black Chalk’s first intentional single-vineyard sparkling wine from what is a relatively warm site, where the shallow chalk and thin soils make the vine roots work exceptionally hard; this means low yields and exceptional fruit quality. The resulting wine is a precise, tension-filled expression of that terroir; English sparkling wine at its finest.
HiDE 2021 is now on the wine list at HIDE (85 Piccadilly, W1J 7NB) where it is served exclusively by the glass, for £29; it is only available until the end of the year. The recommended pairing is with a side of Maldon oysters (£6 each) - the perfect way to kick off dinner, or to accompany a very chic post work meet up.
And for one night only, Black Chalk's winemakers - Jacob Leadley and Zoë Driver - (fresh from bringing in the much-anticipated 2026 harvest), will host a dinner to celebrate the launch of HiDE at HIDE – along with a selection of limited availability library vintages from Black Chalk’s portfolio – on Friday, 30th October.
