Chelsea FC Women's Team Move to Stamford Bridge Marking New Era for Women In Sport and Business

Chelsea FC Women will play their home fixtures at Stamford Bridge this season, a move widely seen as a landmark moment for visibility, investment and ambition in the women’s game. And as the club steps onto one of football’s most iconic stages, it’s also doubling down on a mission that stretches far beyond the pitch: championing women in business through its partnership with Constant Contact.

The shift comes as Chelsea FC Women continue to outpace the rest of the league in growth. The club now boasts 13 million social followers, which is more than 11 Premier League men’s teams, and has reported a 90% year-on-year revenue increase to £21.3 million since becoming a standalone entity.

Their momentum is matched by a new leadership era on the pitch too, with Erin Cuthbert announced as captain, a move celebrated by fans who have watched her evolve into one of the most influential midfielders in the game.

Player-Led Marketing and The Growth Locker

Cuthbert also becomes a Constant Contact ambassador, strengthening the club’s growing partnership with the AI-powered marketing platform. During the summer, Chelsea FC Women and Constant Contact launched an experiment: what happens when footballers become marketers? Players were given full access to Constant Contact’s tools and asked to create and send their own campaign promoting a Women’s Super League fixture. The results were: 573,000 impressions, 526,000 video views, and a 9.8% engagement rate, with fans clicking through to buy tickets.

For Constant Contact CEO Frank Vella, the collaboration speaks to a bigger issue facing both women in sport and women in business.

“Too often, women in sport and business have faced the same challenge: not a lack of talent, but a lack of visibility, investment and opportunity,” he said. “Growth happens when talent is backed with opportunity.”

That opportunity is expanding. Constant Contact was named Chelsea FC Women’s official training kit partner for the 2026/27 season. Prior to that, the two organisations have launched The Growth Locker, a free hub offering marketing resources and advice from Chelsea legends Millie Bright and Carly Telford. Nearly 10,000 business owners accessed it in its first month, many of them women leading small businesses across the UK.

Bridging Women's Sport and Female Entrepreneurship

The partnership also highlights the parallels between women’s football and women-led enterprises. Women represent one in three UK entrepreneurs, yet receive only around 2% of venture capital funding and are significantly less likely to reach £1 million turnover. Constant Contact’s research shows 57% of female business leaders say a lack of confidence has held them back professionally. Chelsea’s rise and their move to Stamford Bridge offers a counter-narrative: what happens when visibility and investment finally meet talent.

Berit Block, Senior Director of International Marketing at Constant Contact, says the partnership is intentionally different from traditional sponsorships:

“Most sports partnerships are built around visibility. We wanted to explore something different by giving the players direct access to the same marketing tools used by millions of small businesses and making them active participants in the campaign itself.”

With Cuthbert stepping into captaincy and ambassador roles simultaneously, Chelsea FC Women’s season at Stamford Bridge becomes more than a venue upgrade. It’s a statement of scale. A club that once fought for coverage now commands global attention. A squad that once played in smaller grounds now fills one of football’s most historic stadiums. And a team that has long championed equality is now actively shaping the future of women-led businesses.

As Chelsea FC Women continue a strong start to the season, the message is clear: women’s football isn’t just growing; it’s becoming a platform for women’s economic power. And this season, that platform sits firmly at Stamford Bridge.
