Every lorry driver knows the feeling: hours running out, tacho ticking, and no idea where you can actually get an artic in for the night. HGVDriver.com wants to fix that with a free-to-browse UK map built entirely by working drivers.

One map, five things drivers actually need

Pins on the map are split into five clear types you can switch on and off at the top of the screen: Jobs, Truckstop, Overnight parking, Break parking and Coffee / Food. Zoom out and you can see coverage running from the Scottish central belt down the M6 and A1, across the Midlands and right round the M25 into Kent and the south coast.

Tap any pin and you get the details that matter on the road: coordinates you can copy, a Go to button for directions, star ratings from other drivers, photos, and notes written by the driver who added it.

Built by drivers, checked before it goes live

Anyone can add a location by right-clicking (or long-pressing on a phone) exactly where it is and filling in a short form. Every submission is checked by an admin before it appears, and drivers who add approved places earn XP and climb the site's leaderboard.

The rules are blunt: no made-up or joke pins, no fake reviews, and accurate information "as far as you know". The site also reminds drivers never to use the map while driving — pull over first.

A cheat sheet for life on the road

Think of it as the knowledge an old hand would pass you in a café, saved on a map. Where you can fit an artic for a quick 15, where the yard entrance really is, which industrial estate has food round the corner. If you drive for a living, it's worth a look — and worth adding the spots only you know about.
