As part of Love Parks Week (25 July – 3 August), Daisy Green’s artist-in-residence Alan McFetridge invites the public to a special edition of his Sunday Artist Run Workshops—a monthly series rooted in creative connection with the natural world.
On Sunday 27 July 2025, guest artist Nilay Paz will lead a participatory, nature-based session in Holland Park, guiding attendees through breathwork, sensory exploration, and visual storytelling. The workshopinvites people of all backgrounds and experiences to build personal connections with the landscape through gentle, intuitive engagement.
“This will be told by our unique voices. Holland Park will be sung by this voice again,” says Paz, whose practice blends ecological awareness with embodied creativity.
The session will begin with mindful movement and body awareness exercises, designed to awaken curiosity and presence. Participants will then walk together through the park, collecting small natural objects that resonate personally. These found items will form the basis of a group visual storytelling exercise, with each person creating a unique work that reflects their own relationship with the land.
Held in the scenic surroundings of Holland Park Café—with its spacious terrace, historic arches, and warm, welcoming atmosphere—the event highlights the café’s ongoing role as more than just a place to eat and drink. Through its support of McFetridge’s residency, Daisy Green continuesto nurture the cultural and ecological vibrancy of Holland Park, transforming the café into a platform for dialogue, creativity, and community connection.
The Sunday Artist Run Workshops are curated by McFetridge, founder of the Centre for Ecological Philosophy, and feature guest artists exploring themes of ecology, ritual, and intuitive creativity. The July edition forms part of Love Parks Week, a nationwide celebration of green spaces and the people who care for them.
