Mangrove Global and award-winning St. Lucia Distillers rum brand Bounty Rum are proud to announce the winning team of the UK’s inaugural Bounty Domino Tournament, Scissor Sisters from Incipio Group in London.

After three national heats in Glasgow at VEGA, Manchester at Side Street Studio and London at the Burlock Rum Room, the winning teams descended on Dalston Rooftop on Wednesday 24th July to battle it out in the live final and earning their prize of a trip to Saint Lucia.

Supported by chef SavJointz and DJ Lightning, alongside St. Lucian Association of London (1963), the evening saw Bounty Rum cocktails and punch flowing, breakout games of Dominoes and plenty of party atmosphere as Scissor Sisters went up against Lieutenant Nescafe (Momona and Gemma Wade of Manchester) and The Domi-Hoes (Ross Campbell and Johnny Morrison of Glasgow). After playing the strategic game against each other twice over the course of the evening, the league table shaped up and saw the announcement that Holly Raffill and Becky Malik (pictured above), aka Scissor Sisters, from Incipio Group had topped the leaderboard and now make their way to Saint Lucia for a Caribbean trip of a lifetime!

Dave Marsland, Brand Ambassador for St. Lucia Distillers said: “We had a fantastic response across the UK with fun heats and a lively Saint Lucian final in London as we celebrated the island’s love of dominoes, paired with the flavoursome Bounty Rum range! It’s been great bringing the two together for the first time in the UK, and I look forward to hosting many more over the coming years.”

In Saint Lucia, you’ll find Bounty Rum behind every bar, locals enjoying it while playing dominoes – it’s as good as the island’s national drink! Bright red and yellow painted rum shacks sport the Bounty Rum brand colours, fuelling the Carnival spirit that revels across the island.

Distilled in the Roseau Valley, one mile away from the Caribbean Sea, Bounty Rums are produced from start to finish in the island’s only distillery. They are made from molasses, bringing flavours of spiced vanilla, ripe sultana fruit, and burnt coconut – a true feast for the senses. Tropical rainwater is harvested on top of the roofs of the facilities and is used to blend the rums, thus creating a very smooth product. Mangrove Global, UK’s premium spirits distributor, distributes Bounty Rum in the UK.

Nick Gillett, Mangrove Global MD said: “This was an unbelievable evening and we were able to bring light to dominoes which is a game we probably all learnt to play at some point in our childhood. It helped demonstrate to those in the hospitality trade that Bounty is here, and how wickedly fun it is to play dominoes. I’m so proud to be instilling this integral Saint Lucian tradition and we intend to keep building our wonderful Saint Lucian and Caribbean community here in the UK, with more Bounty Rum events, especially round the Notting Hill Carnival.”

Bounty Rum will be partnering with M2K Mas Band and Saint Lucian Tourism Authority as well as various bars and venues during Notting Hill Carnival 2024 (also, look out for two Bounty trucks)!  So, if you want a taste of what’s to come this year then join us for Saint Lucian Rum Punch cocktails or a classic Bounty and Coke!
