  • Each vendor will offer doggy-style versions of their delicious dishes including chicken tacos, salmon poke bowls and fish & chips

To celebrate National Dog Day on 26th August, Market Place Vauxhall will transform into Barket Place for the August bank holiday weekend, becoming the first-ever street food market designed to cater to both humans and their canine companions.

Across the bank holiday weekend, Market Place’s street food vendors will be serving specially crafted gourmet dishes for dogs, which our furry friends can enjoy across the weekend for free! This is no ordinary dog’s dinner – it’s a real treat for the discerning canine palate. Alongside their usual delicious, high-quality street food options for humans, vendors will be offering the below pooch specials:

  • ‘Pawsome Poke’ from Inamo Sukoshi – Plain rice with our canine catch of the day, salmon, garnished with sprats.

  • ‘Pug-lia Pizza’ from Made in Puglia – A simple dish of cheese and tomato topped with salami

  • ‘Hound-dock & Chips’ from Wicked Fish – Grilled haddock pieces with fresh chips

  • ‘Noodle Doodle Bowl’ from Choy House – A mini pot with grilled chicken and little noodles

  • ‘Yorkie-shire Pudding’ from Yorkshire Burrito – Fresh meat with traditional Sunday roast vegetables

  • ‘Corgi’s Crudité Catch’ from Beirut Box – Mini salmon & crudités

  • ‘Steak & Fur-ies’ from Argentinian Grill – Mini steak pieces with fresh fries

  • ‘Cheesy Pup Taco’ from Hermanos Tacos – Chicken & cheese taco

  • ‘Coco-Mutt Shawarma’ from Lil Watan – A mini coconut chicken shawarma

  • ‘Quack Snack’ from Duck Shed – Fresh pieces of delicious duck

  • ‘Pawberry Shake’ from Beirut Juice – Fresh strawberries mixed in oat milk

The perfect way to mark the long weekend, Barket Place is a unique event set to redefine the dining experience by offering gourmet street food options for both man and dog, creating a one-of-a-kind, inclusive environment for gastronomes and pet lovers alike. It’s sure to get tails wagging and taste buds tingling.

This special event underscores Market Place’s commitment to being a dog-friendly venue, welcoming dogs of all sizes to dine with furry and human friends year-round.

Holly Hilton, Marketing Director of Market Place, said: “Nothing’s too far-fetched for Market Place – we as a brand are very proud to be dog-friendly across our venues. Being able to run Barket Place in honour of National Dog Day only illustrates this further.

“We are very happy to be able to offer some foodie dogs the chance to indulge in haute cuisine dishes thanks to our fantastic vendors but also to create a space where gastronomes could come and enjoy a unique culinary experience with their furry friends. It’s a chance for everyone to eat, drink, and be terrier!

“Barket Place is all about celebrating the bond between people and their pets, with delicious food options available to both. It’s an extension of our year-round commitment to being a dog-friendly venue, where dogs of all sizes are welcome to dine alongside their human companions.”
