Beat the January blues with lunch for under £5 at Indegno

JANUARY is a notoriously difficult month for Brits who often report feeling low due to the cold, dark weather following the cheerful festive period. However, award-winning Italian street food brand Indegno is giving Londoners a reason to be positive this January with its biggest discount yet.

Indegno is offering its popular Mortadella crescentina and a drink for £4.99 and The Indegna crescentina and a drink for £5.99 as part of its newly launched lunchtime deal, running from 12pm-3pm Monday-Sunday from today onwards, as permanent new options on its menu.

The Mortadella is a simple yet delicious street food classic, comprising of traditional mortadella sausage from Bologna encased in a golden crescentina. The Indegna crescentina is one of the brand’s signatures, featuring handmade parmesan cream, traditional mortadella and cracked black pepper folded into the Bologna-born lightweight dough.

Andrea Liotta, co-founder of Indegno, said: “Our team is passionate about bringing the very best food export of Bologna to the UK market, and we want to do so at a price that’s affordable for Londoners.

“The cost-of-living crisis shows no sign of slowing down and January is a tough month for many, so we wanted to lift spirits with a discount that makes our crescentina a genuinely reasonable lunch option – rivalling your local supermarket meal deal cost as prices creep upwards.”

Other Italian staples on the menu include the tortellini cone (£6.90) filled with melt-in-the-mouth meat, and the cappellacci cone (£6.90) filled with savoury-sweet pumpkin cream.

Indegno also caters for vegetarian, vegan, and halal dietary requirements, with the brand using an all-vegan dough crafted ‘The Indegno Way’ – an award-winning recipe that sees the authentic leavened dough made at the start of each day to ensure its freshness before it is rolled out and fried upon order.

Having been voted as the best street food of its region (Emilia Romagna) by Italy’s largest food network Gambero Rosso, Indegno recently won its second award after being placed in 50 Top Italy’s ‘Top Ten Italian Street Food’ category.

To find out more, follow Indegno on Instagram, visit www.indegno.eu/en-gb or head to its new restaurant at 104 Brick Lane, Shoreditch, E1 6RL.

Indegno is open 12:00pm until 11:00pm Sunday to Thursday and 12:00pm-11:30pm Friday to Saturday.
