The high-profile dogs are enjoying spa experiences, fashion makeovers and trendy haircuts, to reflect their owner’s personal style. Nathan Khider, the owner of leading dog groomers Mon Joli Chien, reported: “We have experienced a 30% increase in turnover in the last 12 months, testifying to the growing appetite for pampering dogs.
“The puppies are treated to fruit or floral facials, nail clips and paw massages. The grooming world is no longer just about a wash and tidy, it is a luxurious experience.
“We have given dogs mohawks, dinosaur-style spikes and even hairstyles to match their owners.
“Some of our regular clients spend over £2,000 a year to ensure that their dog is regularly pampered and on trend.
“We have welcomed DJs, TV stars, Singers, Influencers, Fashion Designers and Actresses, who are all seeking the most luxurious treatment for their pets.
“We now have a two-month waiting list for new clients. Some people are already booking in appointments as far ahead as summer 2026.”
The surge in demand has encouraged the Islington-based salon to double its grooming space allowing them to take on another full-time groomer to accommodate stylish dogs from all over the city.
Nathan added: “After 2 years, we have established ourselves as a leading Luxury Dog Groomers with a loyal clientèle, which promoted the expansion.
“A rising interest in natural wellness for dogs has fuelled demand, as we are seeing several requests for hypoallergenic, unperfumed and organic products for dogs’ sensitive skin.
“Other owners simply love the idea of the ‘spa style’ treatments and like to watch their dog having a facial or a paw massage.
“There has also been a rise in inquiries for the Asian Fusion cuts for fluffy dogs, giving them plush finishes with soft, rounded edges.
“Ultimately, the owners want their dogs to reflect their style. Many of them look alike!”
Mon Joli Chien’s services also extend beyond beauty and pampering.
Khider said: “Our groomers can also detect skin conditions, gum diseases or ear infections. They refer dogs to the vets before any health concerns become serious.
“We’re now exploring introducing infra-red light therapy, which can benefit dogs with arthritis, in need of post-surgery recovery, or those who just need a bit of comfort from their creaky ageing joints.
“Our focus remains on wellness for all dogs.”
In October, the salon is set to host a Teeth Cleaning Day with ultrasonic plaque removal for eligible dogs, part of its growing focus on canine oral hygiene and preventative care.
