Bark & Brew: For the Pawfect Afternoon Tea Companions

Treat time just got pawfect at The Corner London City, as the bustling dog-friendly East London hotel prepares to launch its Bark & Brew Afternoon Tea in preparation for Afternoon Tea Week this August.

With 43.2% of dog owners reported to order a special treat for their canine friends at a restaurant, The Corner London City is working in partnership with canine nutrition experts Talula Eats to offer the Bark & Brew Afternoon Tea featuring a selection of delicious and nutritious treats for dogs to include them in this quintessential British tradition.

Being served daily from 12 – 18 August for £12.50 per dog, Bark & Brew includes a Barkino’s Pizza made with an oat and egg base topped with goodies such as homemade desalted bacon crumbles, low-fat mozzarella and an almond-basil pesto sauce. The Doggie Digestive is a light and nutritious bone shaped snack, ideal for a side snack. For dessert, a colour-themed Peony Pupcake made with natural colourings and zero additives or preservatives ranging from beetroot, purple sweet potato and seasonal fruit and vegetables finishes off the experience.

Served on specially chosen doggy platters for canines of all shapes and size, the Bark & Brew Afternoon Tea allows pets to indulge alongside their owners, who can enjoy the traditional afternoon tea serving delicious, filled sandwiches, banana and strawberry skewers with chocolate drizzle, mini cakes including blueberry cheesecake and Prosecco tort, and a selection of fruit or plain scones. Or opt for the hotel’s fully vegan afternoon tea, offering plant-based alternatives to the traditional menu.

Germaine Joseph, event and sales manager said: “Launching Bark & Brew is the next step in The Corner London City’s goal to be among the most dog-friendly hotels in London. With the popularity of our traditional and vegan afternoon tea, it seemed like a pawsome opportunity to extend the invitation to dogs, and give them the opportunity to indulge during this – very British – week-long celebration.”

The hotel’s dog-friendly ethos is already established with its VIP ‘Dogcation Package’, which welcomes guests with a complimentary bottle of Prosecco, a sustainable dog bed, and delicious dog treats and toys in the rooms. Following an overnight stay, breakfast is served for both owners and their dogs, with 10% off all services at Doug’s Dogs Grooming Parlour, just under 1 mile from the hotel.

Bark & Brew Afternoon Tea is available for £12.50 per dog and must be pre-booked one week in advance. Book now by emailing [email protected] or calling 020 3021 3300.

Traditional and vegan afternoon tea is from £25pp.
