Asda launches its Tickled Pink campaign with an exclusive t-shirt designed by Strictly star and breast cancer campaigner, Amy Dowden. This year’s campaign, running throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), will see over 200 George and Asda products raise vital funds for charity partners Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!.

This year, the retailer’s iconic t-shirt which over the years has been modelled by famous faces from Kate Moss to Jennifer Aniston, has been designed by Amy who was keen to be involved following her breast cancer diagnosis last year.

In addition to Amy’s personalised t-shirt, George clothing and over 200 household-products sold in Asda will be showing support for the cause this October – donating to Tickled Pink’s charity partners.

Known for her sparkly eyes and vibrant personality, Amy has a legion of fans who have watched her on Strictly Come Dancing over the last seven years and followed her recent documentary – ‘Strictly Amy: Cancer and Me’ where she shared her own experience of breast cancer.

Amy has collaborated with George at Asda’s in-house team to design a bold T-shirt in two colourways: baby pink and slate grey. Amy chose a pretty bow design and a love from Amy message featuring a handwritten written signature to add a truly personal touch.

The T-shirts are now online on George.com at just £10 with all the profits from the sale going to Asda’s charity partners Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!

Amy Dowden MBE said: “I’m so happy to be working with Asda Tickled Pink on this year’s campaign. Breast cancer awareness is something I feel so passionately about, especially after my own diagnosis. It’s hugely important to know your own body and check your chest regularly from a young age, and I hope that being involved in this campaign can help to raise heaps of awareness and funds for the brilliant Tickled Pink charity partners – Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!.”

Asda Tickled Pink is one of the UK’s longest-running charity partnerships. The campaign has been running for 28 years and has raised a phenomenal £92 million since its launch in 1996. The campaign works with charity partners Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel! and they’re on a mission to make checking your boobs, pecs and chests, whoever you are, as normal as your Asda shop. The aim is to raise funds for breast cancer treatments, education and support. Together, they’re putting breast cancer awareness on everyone’s list.

Rachael Franklin, director of fundraising, communications and engagement at Breast Cancer Now, and Jo MacSween, Director of Fundraising at CoppaFeel! said: “Amy has captured the hearts of the nation with her openness and honesty around her breast cancer diagnosis. By sharing her experience to raise awareness, Amy will help so many people to know the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and to be breast aware. And that’s what Tickled Pink is all about – empowering everyone to get to know what’s normal for them, and seeing their GP if they notice any changes.

As well as over 200 products, Asda have the George Tickled Pink clothing collection which includes snuggly dressing gowns and hoodies £22.00 as well a full range of PJ’s featuring pink candy stripes £22.00 and bow £20.00, heart £22.00 and popcorn motifs £15.00.
