Drag Race ICON Victoria Scone teams up with Pride in London and Lime to launch ‘Pride At Home’ Delivery Service

  • The service will provide those in the LGBTQ+ community who are unable to attend the parade as a result of access needs or mental health the chance to experience it from the comfort of their homes with a Pride themed goody bag and live stream

  • Launched with the help of UK Drag Race icon Victoria Scone, Lime volunteers will hop on two wheels to deliver the packages, just one day out from the parade on June 29

  • Voting opens today via Pride in London, where you can nominate a loved one who is unable to attend the parade to receive a Pride At Home package

Pride in London and Lime – the world’s leading provider of shared e-bikes and e-scooters have teamed up this year to launch their Pride At Home Delivery Service, a new initiative to help members of the LGBTQ+ community who are unable to physically attend London’s Pride parade, still experience and celebrate from home.

Whether it’s due to access needs, social anxiety, or even discomfort in big crowds, there will always be members of the LGBTQ+ community who are not able to attend London’s annual parade and celebrations in person.

To help bring the community together, regardless of location, Lime has joined forces with Pride London who will deliver goody bags via Lime bikes to a number of the LGBTQ+ community who are choosing or required to stay home to bring the parade to them instead. Paired with a live stream of the event, it aims to help those who are not there in person feel part of the parade; with goody bag donations helping create an at-home viewing experience and celebration as close to the real event as possible.

Friends and family of those in the LGBTQ+ community who are unable to attend are encouraged to nominate loved ones via a nomination form available via Pride in London social channels. Pride in London and Lime will then randomly select up to 50 recipients to receive the packages from Lime’s volunteers. Nominations must be based in London within Lime’s service area. The goody bags will include Pride branded merchandise from various corporate partners of Pride in London this year, including Lime.

This year marks Lime’s second year running partnering with Pride in London. The business has also donated to the charity and is providing 200 Pride in London volunteers with free Lime rides during June and July. The donation will support Pride in London’s Unity Fund, designed to strengthen LGBTQ+ communities by providing support to grassroots organisations in London. Londoners are also encouraged to Lime to the parade, but are reminded to watch out for road closures and park in designated parking bays.

Wayne Ting, CEO at Lime said: ‘We’re delighted to partner with Pride in London once again to help all members of the LGBTQ+ community celebrate Pride this year – whether in person or at home. I know how important it is for people identifying as LGBTQ+ to feel connection and belonging, especially this time of year, which is why I’m so glad we’re working to make an impact in peoples’ lives, however small. This campaign marks our ongoing commitment to a safe and inclusive London and ensures all members of the community can enjoy Pride regardless of their location!”

Christopher Joell-Deshields, CEO at Pride in London said: “We are thrilled to partner with Lime again this year to launch our Pride At Home Delivery Service. This initiative is so important in ensuring the LGBTQ+ community can celebrate Pride, regardless of their ability to attend the parade in person. With the help of Lime’s volunteers and fleet of e-bikes, we will be able to bring the spirit of Pride directly to the homes of up to 50 Londoners who are unable to join us. Whether due to access needs, social anxiety, or other circumstances, we want to make sure no one is left out. By delivering Pride goody bags and providing a live stream of the parade, we hope to create an at-home celebration that is as close to the real thing as possible. We are incredibly grateful to Lime for their continued partnership and support in making this vision a reality.”

Victoria Scone, said: “Being part of the LGBTQ+ community means embracing inclusion and safety, which is why I’m thrilled to team up with Lime this year! As an avid Lime rider myself, I know firsthand the fun and safe experience they provide whenever I need it. Now, we’re taking it up a notch by using their bikes to bring the parade to those who can’t be there in person. Let’s spread the love and celebrate together – I can’t wait to make this year’s festivities unforgettable with Lime by my side! #RideWithPride”

This service and partnership supports Lime’s wider initiatives to support the LGBTQ+ community as part of its wider Global Pride Campaign. The campaign celebrates the value that safe spaces hold for the LGBTQ+ community and how its vehicles provide a way to travel to these spaces. Whether gyms, bookstores, bars, friends’ homes or others, they are all places where people can be their full selves, and Lime helps them get there. In a unique twist for London, via the Pride At Home Delivery Service, Lime is bringing a treasured safe space–the Pride parade–to people who can’t otherwise travel. Lime is partnering with local LGBTQ+ organisations in 14 cities globally.
