    After the frivolities of the festive period, the cold days and dark nights of January can feel as dull and depressing as its grey sky. Yet whilst it’s tempting to stay at home and get cosy until it all brightens up, nothing compares to a night out with friends – and with some of London’s best-loved restaurants offering great value set menus, it’s never been easier to beat the January blues without breaking the bank…  

    TOZI RESTAURANT & BAR – 8 GILLINGHAM STREET, VICTORIA  

    Lunch set menu: £22.95 per person 


    Featuring some of TOZI’s most popular dishes, this set menu gives diners a taste of the very best cicchetti to kick start their afternoon – for just over twenty pounds.  

    Start with a selection of the restaurant’s breads, before choosing between Zucchini Fritti, an avocado, radish, baby gem and Parmesan salad or Coppa di testa with balsamic and baby onions to start. Aubergine Parmigiana, a wild boar ragout with maccheroni and roast baby chicken with roasted potatoes and chilli are available as mains, before a coffee of your choice to finish. For those with a sweet tooth, an upgrade to include a dessert is available for £28.95.

    TOZI GRAND CAFE – 3a ELECTRIC BOULEVARD, BATTERSEA POWER STATION 

    Taste of TOZI: 3 courses for £28.50 per person 

     

     

    Three courses for under thirty pounds can be hard to find in popular shopping destinations, making this set menu not one to miss.   

    Choose from a Chicory Salad, Mixed Beets or Veal & Pork Meatballs to start, followed by Trofie, mushrooms, cavolo nero and Parmigiano vegano (VG), Chicken breast with prosciutto spinach and pumpkin relish or a fillet of sea bass with romesco, nut brown butter, capers and olives as your main. A delicious trio of desserts complete the set menu, with tiramisu, limoncello meringue and gianduiotto chocolate tart as the choices.  

    KITCHEN AT HOLMES – 108 BAKER STREET, MARYLEBONE  

    Sharing set menu: £28.95 per person 

    Available between 12pm – 2.30pm every Monday – Friday, and 5pm – 6.30pm every Tuesday – Friday, Kitchen at Holmes sharing set menu offers diners a collection of delicious dishes full of Mediterranean influences.  

    Enjoy five dishes full of Mediterranean influences, followed by a delicious dessert that will close the palate. Located in the heart of Marylebone Village, this set menu serves Serrano Ham, a Pumpkin Flan with walnuts, feta, pomegranate molasses & za’atar, Polenta & Seasonal Mushrooms and a Chicken Thigh Pizzaiola, complete with Tarte Noisette to finish. For those feeling like treating themselves, the menu can be upgraded to include a cocktail for £37.50 – making the deal even sweeter.
