30 Years of Rinse FM pres. Project 6 Festival

    Friday 24th May, 2024
    Brockwell Park, London

The beating heart of UK underground radio, Rinse FM is set to ignite London’s Brockwell Park on May 24th, 2024, with the return of Project 6 Festival, an all encompassing showcase of cutting-edge music. The first wave of names includes cultural behemoths CASISDEAD, Katy B, Freddie Gibbs + Madlib, Mala, Benga, Juls, Taylah Elaine, Shy FX, sim0ne, Steam Down (plus special guests) and Vigro Deep, with many more to come. Tickets are available now from £34.50.

Since its humble beginnings as a pirate station in 1994, Rinse FM has evolved into a cultural trailblazer that has helped shape and define the electronic music landscape. Blossoming into a hugely influential media outlet that has helped make and break some of the scene’s most celebrated names at the forefront of the most exciting emerging sounds from garage, grime and dubstep to house, jungle, and UK funky. The community station has given a platform to a wide range of diverse talents, pioneering the spotlight on artists across the music spectrum — it has since evolved into a respected label and events brand that releases mix CDs and artist albums, and the station’s journey from catalyst to curator is testament to its unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries, and championing the most vibrant voices in the music scene.

The first headliners include the masked grime rapper CASISDEAD. He is one of the most enigmatic and mysterious rappers in the game and an influential figure whose long awaited debut album Famous Last Words via XL Recordings saw him reach new heights. His lyricism is second to none and he is often cited as one of the UK’s finest.

He will be joined by Freddie Gibbs + Madlib, the contemporary rap and hip-hop duo who have collaborated to critical acclaim on a number of albums that feature Madlib’s unrivalled production and Gibbs’ next level bars. Longtime Rinse associate and chart topping singer and songwriter Katy B also headlines, alongside dubstep royalty Mala, Rinse FM’s very own multi-award-winning rave historian Uncle Dugs, heavyweight collaborators Steam Down (plus special guests), bonafide jungle pioneer and enduring favourite Shy FX, the fast-rising Tim Reaper, the raucous live talent of 4AM Kru and Arthi, a multi-genre London selector who blends dancehall, reggaeton and Afrobeats, garage and house. Also performing are rising star sim0ne who brings her high-energy blends of deep cuts, pulsing house, techno, and euphoric toplines, South African amapiano don Vigro Deep and more.

Benga also plays, a dubstep OG who very much shaped the early sound of the genre with his earth quaking releases, and London’s Taylah Elaine will showcase her deep love for music, smooth transitions and eclectic multi-genre selections, while British-Ghanaian Grammy nominee Juls brings the pioneering Afrobeat sounds that have made him such a contemporary favourite.

Project 6 made its debut last year, receiving widespread acclaim as it united music lovers with a unique day-to-night offering at the vibrant Brockwell Park in South London. The park came alive like a bass-breathing playground, with immersive beats and booming sound systems that left a lasting impression on everyone who attended.

2024’s edition is set to raise the level once more and is an unmissable early summer showcase of  innovative, game-changing artists and labels. Get your tickets now at https://go.kaboodle.co.uk/project-6-2024.
