Watching the football, or more recently, the rugby down the pub with a pint is a time-honoured British tradition, and to make sure punters are getting the best experience, a recent study analysed over 3700 UK pubs to determine which is the best for sports fans.
The study, by TV and electrical retailer Currys, scored pubs out of an overall 50, against factors such as the average price of a pint in the area, the number of screens, the availability of a big screen, anti-social behaviour figures per postcode and more to give an ultimate list of the best UK sports pubs.
The Junction in Harrow came up as the best pub in London and fifth best pub in the UK overall. This pub, located in Greater London, is committed to its sports enthusiasts, priding itself on the buzzing atmosphere and impressive big screens. In addition to these screens, The Junction also has a garden and is labeled as a pet-friendly place. These features contributed to its score of 37.55 out of 50.
The only setback to The Junction’s claim as “the best sports bar” is the not-so-friendly pint price in the area, £5.99, however there are cheaper lagers on offer at this establishment, depending on your taste. Remarkably, The Junction stands out as the only London pub to make the top 20 UK sports bar list.

Ruislip Manor Sports & Social ranks as the second-best sports bar in Greater London, according to the study’s findings. Located in Hillingdon and serving as the home base for Wealdstone FC, this establishment achieved a score of 30.14 out of a possible 50.
The bar primarily focuses on football, yet it also broadcasts various other sports events on their nine screens, in addition to featuring a sizable projector screen. Ruislip Manor proudly points out its family-friendly ambiance that welcomes pets.
Following closely behind Ruislip Manor, another Harrow-based bar took a high position in the study. The Castle, self-described “Harrow’s oasis of relaxation and fun” accrued a total of 29.42 points in the evaluation.
Surprisingly, in the list of the top 10 London sports pubs, a whopping six of them are in Harrow. This London borough is obviously a great location for all those who enjoy their sports fun along with a pint.
