Daisy Green Collection has announced London’s biggest Bowie lookalike competition as part of a mega celebration of David Bowie this September.

ZIGGYFEST is a vibrant new annual event honouring the life, legacy, and cultural influence of David Bowie. The inaugural edition will take place on Saturday 6 September 2025 at Ziggy Green, the Bowie-inspired restaurant on Hendon Street – the infamous spot where the album cover for The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars was photographed.

Organisers are calling on the capital’s top Bowie impersonators to compete in London’s largest Bowie lookalike contest, with finalists invited to ZIGGYFEST and the winner will be crowned on the night by a panel of Bowie’s original collaborators. The winner will take home a £500 cash prize, a ‘money can’t buy’ Daisy Green Black Card and a portrait by Chris Duffy. Entries by 26th of August via www.ziggyfest.co.uk.

A major highlight of the day will be the reunion of some of Bowie’s most legendary collaborators, who will come together to share stories, perform, and reflect on their shared history with one of music’s most visionary artists.

Highlights  include a morning Bowie tour in Soho by Geoff Marsh (V&A Curator of David Bowie Is), The Soho Saints five-piece Brass Band performing ‘Let’s Dance’ and other Bowie hits on Heddon Street. A talk from Spiders from Mars drummer Woody Woodmansey, who performed on the 1972 Ziggy Stardust album, as well as other iconic albums including Hunky Dory, The Man Who Sold the World and Aladdin Sane. Woodmansey, now a respected artist, will also create a specially commissioned artwork for the event.

Plus Suzi Ronson, stylist and inventor of Bowie’s famous Ziggy haircut who went onto marry Ziggy Stardust guitarist Mick Ronson. Ronson will be discussing the musician’s iconic looks and regaling audiences with stories of touring with Bowie and the Spiders from Mars.

The evening party will feature Bowie LIVE AID guitarist Kevin Armstrong, Iggy Pop’s drummer Mat Hector, Bowie LIVE AID saxophonist Clare Hirst, Mike Garson biographer, Cliff Slapper, Hot Chocolate bassist Henry ‘King Thumb’ Thomas, with vocals from Katie Puckrik.

All proceeds from ZIGGYFEST will be donated to two charities, Magic Breakfast and Sarabande.
