Celebrity Hairstylist Kelsey Morey Shares 5 Tips for Keeping Your Hair Red-Carpet Ready

Kelsey Morey knows a thing or two about great hair under pressure. As the founder of Haus of Pretty in Westport, Connecticut, she’s behind red-carpet glamour, luxury salon transformations, and the kind of glossy, healthy hair that makes people stop on the street and ask, “Who does your hair?”

With a team of four stylists and her own in-house product line, Kelsey has built a reputation for artistry and precision, creating looks that photograph as beautifully as they move. And while her client list includes celebrities and high-profile names, her approach isn’t reserved for the elite. The same strategies she uses backstage or before a major event work just as well for a London woman heading from the office to a night out, or from the school run to a black-tie gala.

Here, she shares her five essential rules for keeping your hair camera-ready, whatever your diary looks like.

    1. Treat Your Hair Like Skin
A healthy scalp is the foundation of beautiful hair. Regular scalp massage is one of the simplest, most science-backed ways to boost growth and improve scalp health, and it only takes five minutes a day. For an extra boost, add a targeted serum (caffeine-infused formulas help stimulate circulation) and incorporate a gentle scalp exfoliation to keep follicles clear and receptive.

    2. Don’t Save Treatments for Special Occasions
If your hair is colour-treated, think of a monthly in-salon gloss as essential maintenance, not a luxury. It keeps your tone fresh while replenishing nutrients lost during the lightening process, leaving strands supple and luminous. Because all colour shifts over time (it’s simply the science of hair colour molecules) regular upkeep is key. Pair glosses with deep conditioning or peptide-based treatments, both regularly and seasonally, to strengthen your hair’s structure and maintain that healthy shine.

    3. Invest in the Right Tools
The right tools are the ones you’ll actually use. If your routine is minimal, choose quality products that work before air drying or setting hair in heatless curls. For a polished blow-dry, invest in a controlled, low-heat dryer such as the Dyson- high heat is rarely necessary and can cause damage. When curling, a 1 to 1.5-inch iron suits most hair types: smaller barrels create tighter curls that hold longer, while a 1-inch iron is ideal for fine hair that struggles with staying power. Always mist with hairspray after curling, let the hair cool, then brush through for a refined, connected finish.

    4. Learn a Two-Minute Rescue Style
For a quick, chic style that treats as it tames, apply K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask, part your hair down the centre, and smooth it into a loose, slick-back bun- no tight pulling required. Secure with a hair tie, then glide the Briogeo Style + Treat™ Sleek Stick (Yuzu + Plum Oil formula) over any flyaways. You’ll have a polished look that’s also repairing your hair throughout the day. Just don’t rely on slick-back styles too often; wearing your hair down and changing your part helps protect your hairline and avoid unnecessary tension.

    5. Protect Your Colour Like an Investment
Vibrant colour starts with monthly glosses and products that combine heat protection with UV defense. If you’re spending hours in the sun, a hat is a simple way to preserve your tone. Ultimately, it’s consistent maintenance and the right home care routine that will keep your hair at its best, so if you love swimming or soaking up the sun, enjoy it. Healthy, well-cared-for hair can handle it.

Kelsey’s philosophy is simple: when your hair feels healthy and looks polished, you carry yourself differently. It’s confidence you can wear- whether you’re walking into a boardroom or stepping onto the red carpet.
