A Parisian Cocktail Bar That Travels the World, One Menu at a Time

Hidden behind the stylish Italian restaurant Daroco, Danico is a bar that feels like a secret worth sharing. Accessible only through the restaurant in the evening, it reveals itself behind a heavy velvet curtain—an intimate, moody space where some of the world’s best cocktails are crafted.

Danico is the creative playground of Nico de Soto, an internationally acclaimed mixologist, and his team of seasoned bartenders led by Corentin Gaudin. Currently ranked 49th on the World’s 50 Best Bars, Danico is more than just a cocktail bar—it’s a global experience in a glass.

Since its opening, Danico has built its reputation on bold, globe-trotting flavors. But in 2023, they took their concept a step further with Danico Xplorer: a series of cocktail menus inspired by specific countries, each one a liquid travel journal of Nico de Soto’s mixological adventures. Previous editions have explored Japan. This season, the spotlight is on Peru.

The menu draws deeply from Peruvian culture, and one of the standouts is a cocktail inspired by Leche de Tigre—the spicy, citrusy marinade traditionally used in ceviche. Their interpretation blends Citadelle Gin, Ceviche Distillate, Coconut Oil, Lime, Aji Amajillo, and Coriander. It captures the original’s zesty, invigorating essence while elevating it into something truly unique and refreshing. It’s bold, aromatic, and perfectly balanced—a complex nod to Peru’s culinary soul.

One of the most welcoming aspects of Danico is the bar team. If you’re unsure what to order, they’re happy to talk you through the menu and even offer small tastings of different spirits to help guide your choice. This thoughtful, unpretentious approach makes the experience both high-end and approachable.
